Look at the shape of the eyes and eyebrows. It is definitely the same chap.

  2. Joey says:

I agree that the guy is as handsome today as he was then. If you want to believe it’s not the same guy, look at the nose, the dimples, the chin. Same features, very nice, great photo.

Good god, people. The Wizard Of Oz was 1939. Do you honestly think we didn’t have color film before the pic on the left was shot?

  4. joaniebaloney83 says:

I agree with the other people who have commented–this gentleman was handsome then, and he’s handsome now. Love his dimples!!!!

  5. overcat says:

The earlier picture could well have been in color if it was taken with slide film. We have color slides dating back to 1966. IIRR, color film for ordinary prints was also available at the time.

  6. Jocke says:

    Handsome man, now and then.

  7. Sara says:

It looks like he’s eating Cup Noodles on the right! This is cute 😀

  8. Jenny says:

How was the first pic in color 60 yrs. ago?

    • Kyle says:

Color photography in one form or another has been around since the mid-1800s. Kodachrome, a color film produced by Kodak, was available for general use starting in the 1930s.

  9. Jenji says:

Couldn’t even get really spaghetti noodles & sauce? Cute though.

  10. Sim says:

Poor guy, the bowl is so much smaller :p

  11. John Venezia says:

Maybe it’s just me, but the picture on the left doesn’t look that old. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think they are faking it.

  12. Becki says:

That has to be the most adorable thing I’ve seen today. I love this man!
