Chinese Awkward Family Photos - Photos

PicMonkey Collage2So…. apparently on Weibo (Chinese version of Twitter) users have been taking to the website in their droves to post hundreds of hilariously awkward pictures to amuse their friends using a hashtag that translates as ‘showing off some embarrassing photos of our childhood’. AFP salutes our awkward Chinese brothers and sisters!

These are all epic and awesome!!! Love the veggie girl!

  2. Gavin says:

I love how some of you are defending the non-awkwardness of these. The children who posted the originally found them awkward, and the photos are of them!!!

  3. Mark says:

Maybe that’s where David Byrne got the idea for his big suit.

  4. Colleen says:

Could be adoption referrals, but also, it is very common for babies and little children to be dressed in layers upon layers, so much so, that their arms stick straight out.

I can’t speak for the Vegetable Girl, Glamour Shot or the Big Suit, but the rest of these look like typical adoption referral photos. Those are not awkward at all to parents of Chinese children.
