I don’t know about the caption’s intended meaning, but the child looks like he has to pee. Er muss Wasser lassen.

It’s because the 24th November instead of 25 December. Or maybe the santa decided to show up early and get wasted onchristnas eve.

  3. liz says:

Maybe because he doesn’t look very jolly. And the kid is def not amused either. Not a REALLY awkward picture!

In the US, Santa is portrayed as a jolly and benevolent figure, which isn’t true throughout the world. Santa looking so serious would be seen by a lot of Americans as vaguely threatening and ominous. Judging bu the expression on rhe child’s face here, he might be inclined to agree.

oh, alright. makes sense to americans then. For me this pic looks like it could have been taken at my kindergarten at the beginning of the 90es where one Christmas I was hiding behind a chair when “Santa” entered because I was scared shit of him. He looked just like that guy. Nowadays we’ve got the same jolly Coca-Cola Santa as everyone so all is fine 🙂

Maybe the Krampus is off to the left.

    Why is this awkward?

I don’t know, I don’t see anything awkward here. Maybe cause I’m German. Could someone explain what’s supposed to be awkward in this pic?

I’ve noticed that the folks in most holiday pics from countries outside of the U.S. always look so serious. Funny.
