Easter Surprise - Easter

“This was taken Easter morning in 1986.   That’s me and my little sister (14 years younger than me) I had come home from college for the weekend and must have been out the night before.  I obviously wasn’t too happy about having to wake up early for Easter festivities.   I think when my Mom took this picture, she was just happy to have her son home from college to help celebrate the holiday.  The contrast of my little sister all frou frou in her new Sunday dress and me barely dressed and sporting cheesy glasses and a sleazy mustache is just too much.”

A reenactment will not bring much without that couch and I guess the couch ended up in the garbage….

    You look like Joey Silvera!

That couch was modern in the 80’s. Prior to that they might have had one that was a solid colored avocado green or harvest gold velveteen model. After that the couch designers went crazy using the same colors but mixing them up in florals and plaids. My husband and I got married in the late 80s and we each had a plaid green and gold couch before we combined households.

I agree with the other folks who called for a reenactment. I’d love to see the updated version!

Yep, we all know the sag in the back where the cushions were supposed to meet and the feeling that came with waking up from a nap and realizing you have been partially consumed by the couch. I miss those days.

We had the same couch! Can’t say I ever sat on it in briefs and a bad teenage mustache…

  14. Scout C says:

Who wouldn’t feel a little under the weather after seeing that couch, especially after a night of festivities?
