And it’s only just begun.

Prolly just bad timing on the photog’s part.
Ya’ll are ratchet.
She better not fall asleep or that baby might be knocked off by twitching legs!
Poor girl. I can only imagine that in addition to being sleep deprived she probably gained a bunch of weigh and hasn’t had a shower since leaving the hospital. Her hubby probably doesn’t help much and insisted she breast feed even though she didn’t really want to thereby eliminating him from helping with any feedings. Ever. Judging by the glasses I would say this picture is from the late 70’s early 80,s and Always© with wings haven’t been invented yet so she’s probably got the equivalent to a small mattress bunched up underneath her. Of course I could be wrong but judging from her defensive posture and unattached demeaner towards the sleeping bundle of joy I’m probably not too far off.
Sounds like you might be describing your own experiences??
I’m not sure she’s looking discouraged, I think with a 3-week-old baby, she’s probably falling asleep!
Any parent can relate to how numb you feel at three weeks. The feedings every two hours, the sleepless nights. The crying jags, yours and the baby. I lived on coffee during this time and am not ashamed to say so. At four weeks you begin to learn your baby’s routine. Then you can relax a little bit. But three weeks? Ugh!
