Birthday On The Rocks

funny birthday picture

“This is my 6th birthday party and yes that’s a bottle of Vodka my mom had to put down in order to plop my birthday cake on the table (yes there is no plate under it). This is also the same day I learned to make my mom her screwdrivers. Ahhh, the 70’s in Brooklyn were great.”

  1. Seriously? says:

This poor kid obviously had a traumatic birthday (very sad) and all anybody wants to discuss is what kind of booze is on the table. It’s like witnessing a robbery and then telling the cops you didn’t get a good look at the perp, but you’re pretty sure his shoes didn’t match his belt.

Hope you had many happy birthdays to follow up this one, Joe.

  2. Lori says:

That made me really sad. I hope you’ve had better birthdays since then.

  3. Ullis says:

Vodka or rum, what a sad picture… Learn how to mix drinks for your parents when you’re 6… And no plate under the cake.

  4. Joe says:

Yes it is Rum. But that day she did teach me to make her screwdrivers. Which is vodka and oj.

  5. Mel says:

That’s bacardi, and I’ll bet you’re Puerto Rican.

I’m Puerto Rican and my parents LOVE Bacardi. I also mixed them rum and cokes at a very young age, though I can’t recall my birthday cake every being placed directly onto the table…

  6. Kevin says:

That’s not vodka… and you weren’t making screwdrivers with it (unless your Mom was hiding her vodka in a rum bottle).

  7. Will says:

Actually, that bottle of Bacardi is rum, not vodka.

  8. Long John says:

The bottle is a rum bottle. Not a vodka bottle. Just sayin.

  9. Jim says:

    It’s like I have a twin.

  10. Kniget says:

Looks like a bottle of bacardi rum to me……
how do you make screwdrivers out of that?

  11. Betsy says:

That’s rum, not vodka. Bacardi, to be exact. Are you sure you weren’t mixing up rum and Cokes?
