An Easter Possession - *AFP Hall Of Fame*

“This photo has baffled my family since it was taken on Easter 1984. When my mom got the photo back, she immediately had me try to pose like this and I couldn’t. We’ve never figured it out. No photoshop, and I assure you I am neither possessed by a demon nor anywhere near that flexible.”

The only thing amiss are the socks. There aren’t feet in them. Cover the socks and you can see that it’s the back of her legs . Her feet are facing forward, buried in grass somehow.

  2. Mindy says:

It looks like your top half turned left while your bottom half stayed put. It’s hard to see because of the fluffy dress but I’m sure that’s what you did.

  3. April says:

You are clearly getting ready to do a twirl to make your dress poof out. It’s just one of those perfect timing shots. Nothing weird, demonic or out of sorts. Sorry to burst any bubbles. I’m a phot, and the mother of a twirling expert!

I’m surprised you didn’t notice the ghosting of her actual legs and the detached knee from the real leg on the left hand side, as a photographer.

  4. Lollerskate says:

Judging by your little hand, it’s obvious that it’s a right hand, and you’re posing normally, looking backwards. The thing is, you either had long socks stretched backwards with your feet buried in the grass, or stepping on backwards shoes, something like that.

  5. Jami says:

I think this was probably an accidental double exposure.

  6. Skiptonius says:

It looks like you are turned at the waste looking backwards, and then your head turned slightly to the camera. Little kids are more flexible and can do strange things 😛

  7. Nicky says:

I assume you were turning from side to side, to make the skirt fly.
And the fotographer caught you at the exact moment when you were turned furthest back on a motion to the left. If you try to turn/pose like this slowly/deliberately, it seems impossible, but if you pivot fast enough, the momentum will give you the few extra-inches/degrees it would take to come to the pictured position.

  8. shirley elizabeth says:

    She was probably mid twirl.

  9. julie says:

ummm, you can see by the legs another set of legs that are faintly there, touched out or whatever.
