Frog Boy

“How my boyfriend got all those frogs to stay put is a mystery unto itself. Don’t know how it took seven years of dating to find this picture, but it was worth the wait.”

Camera Shy

“My son, daughter, and I went to a community day event in Jamestown, Virginia, where we won this gift basket in a raffle. The organizers wanted to take some publicity pics with us, and of course my daughter was being a stinker and threw a fit. Only my son and I sat for them. Years later I was clearing out my email inbox when I rediscovered this gem. Kids can be so creepy!”

The Outfit Checklist

“My checklist for leaving the house: plastic visor? Check. Awkward goggles? Check. Pink plastic Swatch watch? Check. Michael Jackson-style glove? Check. Outfit purchased at the thrift store? Check. Self esteem much higher than situation warrants? Check. ‘I’m ready, let’s hit the road!'”

My Many Fashion Mistakes

“This was me in 8th grade, in ’92 or ’93. I don’t know what is worse: the perm, the ribbon, the tucked-in shirt that no sensible middle schooler would ever wear, the black shoes with white socks, the way-too-obvious black watch, the ’97 for my graduating year or the fact that I was trying to look cool. Epic fail!”

Curtain Call

“So I (male) just rented out my room to a woman and thought I’d get a new shower curtain. I should have looked at it more closely before buying it. Will be returning it immediately.”

Third Arm

“Here I thought, ‘What a great head shot of my son,’ but then I realized he has a third arm growing from his shoulder, thanks to his sister.”
