Frankly, the dog was offended.

“Here’s a lovely picture of vegetables and dip. Oh, yeah, and then my family in the background.”

We love this amazing family project from Lilly, Leon, and baby Orson, which began after they had accumulated a lot of cardboard boxes (due to moving to a new country). The costumes, props, and sets in Cardboard Box Office are created entirely out of everyday household items, toys, cardboard, and three individuals slowly losing their sanity.
“Our kids 1st communion during the swine flu scare back in 2009. The Catholic Church made the decision that weekend to not have the moment in masses where everyone shakes hands.”

“This is a photo of my wife (in the middle) with her sister and dad. I love the before and after aspect of this picture. You can see the glee of a 10 year old who is certain she has a great idea, then the moment immediately after her mom (taking the picture) says ,”Put your hand down!” and how crushed she seems. Everyone else in the photo’s apparent obliviousness only adds to the moment.”

“This is a friend of mine. Posted for Star Wars Day. She is apparently supposed to be Leia and not some Goth prom queen. He’s Luke… not just a Renaissance fair bar keep. And their baby is supposedly an ewok. But Luke and Leia are brother and sister… maybe that is how ewoks are born?”

“Our family went to the local portrait studio with our dog, Prudence. My dad, who loved her very much, considered her a member of the family and therefore wanted her to be a part of the photo. When we posed for the picture, Prudence would not stay still so my Dad straddled the bench to keep her still. This photo hung in our house for years, and, the truth is, we were oblivious about its awkwardness until a close friend pointed it out.”

“What should have been such a simple thing. ‘Let’s take a picture,’ turned into this. Apparently, taking a picture with Mom and Dad was just too much to ask. Thankfully, we moved on from this awkward moment.”
