Family Portrait

Days of Denim

“This is my family around 1995 or so. The height of Ck1 and denim themed family photos apparently. That’s me smashing my ribs and gripping on for dear life while I had to hold my serious face pose.”

Modern Family

“The conversation really flows at our family gatherings.”

Meltdown

“I’m not sure what was going on, but I didn’t want anyone near me.”

Holier Than Thou

“My little sister’s first Holy Communion. She was over getting her picture taken and wanted to get out of that dress. We were like, “Just one more in the parking lot!”

Minor Threat

“This is a family portrait from 1987. I just love the contrast of the punk rock kids, coupled with the wholesomeness of Mom and daughter. It brings a smile to all of us, and we want to share the photo on your website.”

Then Came The Chicken

“My youngest brother refused to be in the photo for our church telephone book unless he could wear his cowboy suit. The accordion followed. Then came the chicken. I just get to be awkward because I’m in fourth grade and have a turtle t-shirt and a severe part.”

Cool And The Gang

“While we were never the type of family to sit for a studio portrait, someone stumbled across a coupon and decided to give it a shot. Mind you, this is the ONE AND ONLY family portrait we ever took. I am on the bottom left with the too-big-for-my-face white fashion glasses and the poorly chopped bangs.) I vaguely recall that we had a family meeting and decided to try and look “cool” — hence the sunglasses and the emotionless faces. I’m not sure what’s more entertaining: the fact that no one is wearing sleeves? Or that there is an honest to God ALF t-shirt being worn in all seriousness?”

The Twist

Somebody didn’t get the message.

Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut

“This is a family portrait where we are wearing t-shirts from our boiled peanut business. We had an early morning appointment and got up 15 minutes before our time. The stunned look on our faces is actually a waking up look and thoughts of what are we doing!!!! It has become a family classic.”

Falling Slowly

“My daughter and I had been holding hands and she was leaning away from me and our photographer caught the perfect moment!  So the rest of us are looking fabulous while my 2 year old is crashing into the pavement!”

… and later that day. Seriously.
