Who Wore It Best?

« Back to Awkward Wedding Contest

“My Aunt never had children and to fill the void she has a stuffed bear that she treats like a child. By coincidence, the bear and I share the same name. On my wedding day, the bear showed up dressed to match and this darling picture was taken.”

I actually think it’s kind of a sweet picture. Of course it’s a little sad, but it shows that the aunt had a sense of humor. It’s not the worst thing in the world to be childless. I am not, but I know many who are, and most of them of fine with it. Life does go on after all.

OK, even though the photograph itself is pretty cute, this one gets my vote for that strange, heartbreaking story behind it. We must hear more stories of Crazy Lonely Aunt and her furry little friend.

  3. Kes says:

But it was a MALE bear! The poor thing…

  4. JT says:

    That’s heart-breaking. :(

    EPIC AWKWARD!!!

Does your aunt stalk anyone online, or does she have a Facebook page dedicated to her little bear friend?

It’s like an episode of ‘The Twilight Zone!!” Same name you say?? Hhmm, that slightly petrifies me. GAAAHH!

  6. Moogie says:

Oh dear! I hope Crazy Single Aunt didn’t insist on the bear being IN the wedding party.

Sidenote – If this were me I couldn’t call this a ‘darling’ photo without rolling my eyes. Kudos to you for being a good sport!

Crazy Single Aunt’s nieces and nephews will end up having to pick out her nursing home one day…

  8. bergg22 says:

Seriously creepy. I’m actually a little afraid right of stuffed animals and single aunts right now.

  9. CB says:

The story is definitely the most awkward component here. I say “vote” just because of the story.

  10. sasha says:

    Creepy is an understatement!

  11. Awkward is me says:

    Sad…so very sad.

  12. Cam says:

Lonely Crazy Aunt is the most awesome thing EVER. If I didn’t have children I would adopt a whole family of lonesome bears and take them to all family get togethers.

  13. Jay says:

    Umm…I don’t know what to say…

  14. Kim says:

That’s just about the creepiest thing I’ve ever heard.
