“To celebrate the first year of marriage of my father and step mother, they thought it would be a good idea to go on a camping road trip to Colorado in a GMC Jimmy with my step brother, step sister, brother and me (the lovely girl wearing even lovelier glasses), all aged between twelve and fourteen. To this day, we kids call it The Vacation from Hell.”

Sweet and Sour
Every year we take a family trip to the Embassy Suites in Indianapolis because the kids love Sweety, the resident bird. We always take a family photo with him before we leave. This particular year, we tried several times to get a good picture, but my darling children were not cooperating “sweetly”. Ugh!
