Gone Fishin’

July 30th, 2011

“When we first came to America, we often went fishing in Wisconsin on vacation. About this time, my brother and I (I’m the one with no shirt on) had chicken pox, so my mother covered our rash with diluted Brilliant Green dye (sold as an antiseptic in Russia). That’s why we’re covered in green spots. As to the fish…well, I don’t think he was having a very good day either.”

Are We There Yet?

July 30th, 2011

“Family Vacation, 1987 Redlodge, MT. Dad was packing the car, items falling out of the contraption fixed to the roof. My brother, facing out the window did not want his picture taken. He was crying, because he wanted to get out of the car.”

“On a trip to Hershey PA circa 1976, that’s me on the right in the lovely orange ensemble, with my brother, sister, & dad. I think this one pretty much speaks for itself.”

Poncho Power

July 30th, 2011

“We were visiting Williamsburg and it started to rain. Only my wife was smart enough to have an umbrella. We ducked into a stor and bought everyone a poncho for $1.00 each. They lasted about 10 minutes. Every time you moved your arm they tore.I love the pointy head on them.”

A Walk to Remember

July 30th, 2011

“This picture shows me and my family’s long trip to the botanical gardens in Niagara Falls. Starting from Embassy Suites in Niagara Falls, planning on walking to the Botanical Gardens; turned out to be a longer walk than we anticipated. We got to white water walk attraction and were all exhausted, we decided to get the adventure pass, and got the people mover to our desired destination. This picture was taken at a fountain within botanical gardens. It was a walk to remember…”
