Send In The Clowns
“This is a picture of me and my cousins. My grandma used to sew us matching costumes every year for halloween. She decided it would be a good idea to take us to get professional pictures done in these matching clown costumes. When I asked her what she was thinking years later she replied, ‘I thought you would appreciate them someday.’ Thanks, Grandma, for the thoughts!”

Return To Sender
“Our mom was a photographer and she thought it would be cute to fit us into the smallest box possible. After many pictures, I was clearly a little peeved, and you can see my sister’s struggle from the redness in her face. We decided to recreate it this summer when she was home from her travels abroad, and, even though it was a tight squeeze in that box, it felt dang good to be back together again.”

Timing Is Everything
“She gets her grace from her mama! She wanted to pose in front of the tree…on the slippery leather arm of the couch…I managed to get one shot!”

American Revolution
“This is our ONLY professional family photo circa 1980. It was a fundraiser through my school. My mother made me wear my marching band outfit. It was humiliating and not only is the picture forever, it was witnessed by my entire grade school. (I love the pic now though!)”

You Are My Sunshine
“This what it looks like when 1979 meets a perm and then gets dressed up for a dance recital. Just another one of my weird recital costumes from that era (my previously published photo is in the AFP Hall of Fame – Tinseltown… my claim to fame!).”
