Maroon 5 - Kids

“My mother must have ransacked the Sears catalog to purchase these Sears Tuffskins maroon denim outfits (with white top-stitching) for all five of us kids. She got matching outfits for herself and Dad, who aren’t in the photo. Then we all went to Six Flags Over Georgia, where we were mistaken for – on multiple occasions – either a gospel group or a a country music band. As the eldest child (12) and only girl…I was completely mortified and spent most of the day dragging 20 feet behind my family. Flash forward 44 years and it is now my brothers’ and my most ‘precious’ (and totally hilarious) memory! Embrace the awkward!”

Snacktime Strife

Snacktime Strife - Kids

“My six-year-old daughter scribbled this note about her little brother, then stuffed in my hand an hour after she had a snack. It reads: ‘It’s just that everyone pays attention to Jay, not me so no one pays attention to me, so people don’t feed me that much.’¬†She was apparently starved for more than just attention.”

Dropping The Baton

Dropping The Baton - Kids

“I had been excited all day long for my baton recital. My mom had gotten my hair and makeup done and I could not wait to get on stage. However, I did not know there would be pictures involved. When I was presented to the photographer, I was more than pissed. The face you are seeing in this picture is basically me saying ,’Screw you, Mom and Dad.’ And the hell of it all is…the photographer PICKED THIS PICTURE TO PRINT. My parents BOUGHT IT. My parents GAVE COPIES TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS. It will live in infamy on numerous refrigerators, in many photo albums, and now, in all its glory all over the web.”
