This is actually Norway’s most famous animal, the chimpanzee Julius. When he was a baby, his mother rejected him, so the vetrinarian and one of the zookepers let him live among their families until he got too big to do that. He is still alive, and is one of the biggest attractions at Kristiansand dyrepark (zoo) in Norway. The picture is from the book about him, one of my favourites as a child.
