Behind The Awkwardness: Strange Encounter

“This picture is of my ancestor. My family would go visit Montana from Minnesota. The Montana family was much more tough than the Minnesota family including the boy in this picture. He was a tough little kid until he came around the corner and met Cindy the family monkey.”
(submitted by Heidi)

That’s funny, my family moved from a homestead in Montana back east to northern Minneasota – where they traded the bust bowl for the hard winters. Don’t think they had a family monkey, but then I’ve never specifically asked. Maybe it was such a common practice then that bringing it up now wouldn’t seem pertinent… I’ve gotta call my grandma and get to the bottom of this!
This picture is gold!!! The look on child’s face is unmistakeable; WTF is this?
A picture of your “ancestor”? That’s garbage! Evolution is a lie! God created Adam and Eve not…….oh wait you were referring to the little boy…….never mind.
There aren’t enough words to describe how much I love this picture. And Heidi, your ancestor looks exactly like my brother at that age, but we live in a different M state.
Remember when comics had ads for ordering your own pet monkey?
Where can I sign up for a family monkey?
Love this picture!!!
I love it too!!!
reminds me of that afv video of the little boy kicking and pumching in front of the chicken and then the chicken just chases after him. lol
I really wished for a ‘family monkey’ when I was a kid but never got one!
Maybe you were the family monkey, and nobody wanted to tell you!
Me too! Didn’t you LOVE the scene in the old movie “Heidi” (Shirley Temple version) where the monkey goes bananas (pun intended) during dinner and swings around on the chandelier at the rich old lady’s house?
The family monkey? Sure, who doesn’t have one of them?
