Behind The Awkwardness: Cool Runnings
August 15th, 2011
“When I was kid, the movie ‘Cool Runnings’ changed my life. I wanted to be Doug E Doug in that movie. I got ‘dreadlocks,’ which were just braided extensions and I named my pet snake Rasta. I don’t even know what else I could say that the photo doesn’t say better.”

I love that your shirt pretty much matches your snake. Very good…
And all I can say is you turned out pretty hot…..now. Not in this pic……cause that would be creepy.
You are so cute! how awesome
I would have been the first person lined up to be friends with you.
How about “WTF was I thinking?”
You slay me, sir…
I’m curious to see what you look like now Liam….post a pic!!!!!!!
I am fairly normal looking now, gawk away haha.

Aw, your dreads are gone.
I was curious too what u looked like today, thanks for posting. BTW thats awesome, you would of been my friend in school for sure!!! and also that is awesome of ur parents for letting you be you! awesome! thanks for sharing!
Yeah I have to say, “Bravo Mom and Dad”! It is really hard to let your kids be their kooky selves. You worry about what people will think, what people will say…. whether it will get them beaten up after school… but ultimately you have to let them be themselves.
i see pride, i see power, i see a bad as corn snake who don’t take no crap offa nobody!
Oh that was great
i just now noticed my “bad as” typo.
You’re parents are an inspiration, Liam, and I’ll bet they’re very proud of you, as well. By the way, was the snake named after Doug E Doug?
I love your parents!!!!! Did the photographer keep a straight face?
I hope I have a son just like you one day! Love this picture. Too cute. I also LOVED Cool Runnings as a little girl.
BEST SCHOOL PHOTO EVER!!!!!
Hahahahahha! My first thought was the same as some others……you had some awesome parents!
Very cool!
Freakin’ adorable!!! Love the snake, too.
Really cool mon..
Your parents rock!
I had a corn snake just like that. His name was Charlie.
mwahahahaha!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That looks like a school picture… I’m just impressed that he was allowed to take the snake with him!
Yeah, today you can’t even bring peanut butter to school!
I love you too, Dave. I love you too.
This is so adorable! ADORABLE!
I love you Liam
You had really cool parents.
I love that your parents let you express yourself. Very cool. And they probably knew that one day you’d look back and think, “Oh good lord…what was I thinking?!”
AHHHHHHHHH! White Boy with dreadlocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I sure wouldn’t want to run into this kid on a dark playground.
This isn’t awkward, this is cool! I think it’s awesome that such a young kid would go beyond mainstream and decide to risk following a different path. Also, cute snake!
