The Awkward Pet Photo Gallery
Presented by PetSmart Charities

We love our pets and treat them like family but let’s face it, sometimes our love can go a little overboard. We throw them elaborate birthday parties, we take them to the mall with us to sit on santa’s lap (even though they have no idea who the big, bearded guy is), we hug them a little too tightly…

To commemorate the holiday season, we are proud to present, in partnership with PetSmart Charities, the Awkward Pet Photo Gallery – a safe place for owners to showcase their unconditional affection for their pets.

And we are inviting you to submit your own awkward pet pics until 12/21. The pet photo deemed the most lovably awkward will receive signed copies of the New York Times-bestselling Awkward Family Pet Photos book.

See the gallery below. Submit your own pics here.

Your donations help PetSmart Charities find a lifelong, loving home for every pet.

Lap Dog

“This is a picture of our 140 pound dog Duncan sitting on my wife whom is 6 months pregnant in the picture.   We’re waiting to break the news to him that he’s not a Chihuahua.”

Cattitude

“A few awkward things about this photo:

1. The cat’s name was Chicken.
2. The cat is even in the photo.
3. We were told to look serious, but my younger sister just looks pissed.
4. My brother smiles like that in every picture, even today.
5. I thought my glasses were “groovy.”
