Brothers

The Grief Process

“My uncle, comforting my father after breaking a toy on Christmas morning, 1969. That’s brotherly love.”

Santa’s Rebellion

“My parents took me and brother to see this ‘Bad Santa’ sometime in the late 80s. We used to have 3 years worth of pictures with this Santa, but somehow over the years, these are the only 2 that remain. It wasn’t until 20+ years later we realized he looks angry and drunk and is flipping the bird in every picture we took!”

Wrestlemania

“It was school picture day, and the youngest would have absolutely none of it!  The brothers love each other very much, but sometimes dont get along.  This is the perfect photo to describe their relationship!”

Carved Up

“The more I cut, the more it fell apart. I was on the verge of tears but always had my big brother there for encouragement. He says he can still recall my pumpkin seed sized tears.”

A Bunny, A Lone Ranger, And A Hunchback

“My brothers and I recreated our most pitiful Halloween costumes from the early 80’s. I was about 4 years old, my brothers 6 and 11. My middle brother, the Lone Ranger, hated dressing up for Halloween, so that was as extensive of a costume as he would wear. Half way through trick or treating he ditched the hat and mask and no one knew what he was supposed to be. My oldest brother, on the other hand, was fascinated with being the Hunchback. Thirty years later we went back to our old house to stand on the stoop for the re-creation. Only a little sister could convince two grown men to do this. I think we nailed it.”
