“What girl in the window? I don’t see anyone.”
    “She’s 14 too. She’s always 14.”

  10. Cincha says:

I think this is my favorite, too, and pairs well with the holiday photo in black and white with the three people and the weird shadows. I can’t find it, or I’d post the title.

This would be a great story starter for a creative writing class…I’m going to make my high school sophomore students write a story around it during the torturous month of December, when no one wants to write.

  11. Izzi says:

This is the greatest photo in the history of the world.

  12. Kelli says:

    There’s something wrong with Esther!

  13. Rebecca Herman says:

I believe this is my home. Where was this picture taken?

  14. chickmunkey says:

This is one of my very fav’s on here. There is something so right about this pic but there is something soooooooo wrong….. I agree with the Lit Teacher when she/he posted a comment about making this a good topic for creative writing class. This pic needs to go to the hall of fame of awkward here . It’s very very wrong-good

  15. Bilboa says:

This looks like an album cover for some mid-’90s indie band.

  16. KandyKan says:

“Oh I WILL have some of that cake…just you wait…”

  17. Anon says:

A cross between “Rear Window” and “Whatever Happend to Baby Jane?”

  18. Shannon says:

Is that really a girl holding the cake or are they celebrating the transition to the transition?

  19. kayla says:

    tessa,
    really,
    are you serious.
the picture was kind of starting to freak me out!!!

  20. Flim Springfield says:

I think it’s a great emotional image. Perhaps, not the intent of the subjects, but artistic nevertheless.

  21. Carol says:

creepy! Whoever said this would be a good photo for a creative writing paper was right on.

  22. Morgan says:

God, that looks like a freaking ghost or something (can ghosts eat cake?). Thanks, I wanted to look at these pics before bed but will probably get nightmares about gravity defying cake decorations and sulky ghosts with sugar cravings.

  23. chris gilmore says:

    LOOKS LIKE AN ARBUS PHOTO

  24. JD says:

I like it. Immensely. Calls to mind Diane Arbus.

  25. S13558 says:

It’s very reminiscent of a post-modern surrealist photo….and yes, the fingers in the frosting is a nice touch.

  26. Comicsaurus says:

    I believe is a 14.

    For 14 Ghosts! OooooOooooOoooh!

  27. charlotte says:

    i think its a 14.

  28. RockitQueen says:

    that was good. really good.

  30. Tara says:

who cares about spelling. It’s all for fun anyway. chilll.

  31. Anastus says:

I totally agree with you on the awkward & spelling case. It’s sometimes alarming how badly written English you see on the internet, and English isn’t even my first language. It seems people just don’t care.

On to the photo itself, besides it’s other creepy sides, has anyone figured out an theory about what the hell are those things on top of the cake? Õ.ò

  32. sully says:

oh my – that is classic

  33. Sis says:

    ooops…submitters.

  34. Tessa says:

No actually, it’s my mom (In the window) and my aunt (with the cake).
    Hahaha.

  35. RockitQueen says:

I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s a scene from The Day The Earth Stood Still.

  36. Beth says:

I care about spelling. And grammar. I love funny, awkward photos but good grammar is hot!

  37. Patrick says:

    HAHAHA

  38. NuttyMom says:

I believe it might be a circus theme. I think, I see a strong man, a seal and a cannon.

You have a typo too, in case no one told you. ;D
