Awkward family photography 101: “Be sure the clothes your family is wearing has been ironed. Creases and folds will draw attention away from their smiling faces.”
Unless they were trying to say “cactuses” which is also acceptable as the plural, although cacti is listed first in the dictionary entry which indicates it’s the preferred usage.
In regards to the annual “Farnsworth family costume party” Jim could have sworn his wife said “Broccoli Spears” not Brittany Spears when he went to order.
They seem to be Saguaro cactii. According to wikipedia, it takes a long time before they grow “arms”.
In this photo, the oldest cactii (mom & dad) have two arms. The medium cactii (older brothers) have one arm. The youngest cactus (younger brother) has no arms. Very accurate depiction. I wonder – was it intentional?

I totally thought they were watermelon at first… couldn’t figure out why their arms were up… now I got it!
And the neighbors will say “I don’t know what happened. He seemed like such a nice quiet boy.”
LEFT IS ME

GOOO AWAYYY
wouldn’t dare no this family!!
imagine being the little one on the lefts friend gosh!
“no one understood why little Robby had issues”
We have a WINNER! The prize goes to Michelle, NICE!
I’m reminded of the Jolly Green Giant
Yeah? What are they? The Jolly Green Corn?
You know, your comment could offend the Jolly Green Giant.
You better watch out!
They kinda reminded me of Okra’s who are breathing.
Um awkward big time weird
They knew dad was too cheap to buy a christmas tree, but no one had the heart to call him on it.
Some family pictures are just better left unexplained.

yes, yes, because it’s the wrinkles that draw the attention here. Definitely distracting!!
Cheryl-LOL! A+++
We no harm you. Take us to your leader
lmao!
The costumes are not as awkward AS THE ROOM THEY ARE IN!!!
Cactus is singular.
Cacti are plural.
Cactiis is simply not a word.
Natasha, London.
It is in America!

/pedantic mode off
Haha, the little one’s head is so pointy.
I wouldn’t have raised my hand either.
WOW!!! Really? I think for one of the first times in my life I am left absolutely speechless. Not quite sure what to say about this one….
Who here likes asparagus, raise your hand?
It’s not easy being green!
I think I went to school with those kids. Weird. They never gave any indication that was what they did with their spare time
Looks more like seaweed to me…!
Hmm…these Oompa Loompas aren’t quite ripe yet.
All these people look like folks I know and love. Is that good or bad? good i think. i love the cacti!
Children of the Corn?
Is the tall cactus Patrick Stuart?!
you know, I was wondering if this was some kind of Star Trek thing..
Now if we could get someone to dress as bread and get the Bacon Boys here…we can make a BLT.
Hold the “T” right? Or replace with compound bow?
Or is the “T” for “Tall Cactus” ?
Their cactus arm pose makes them all look like mimes trapped in an invisible boxes.
This is the definition of awkward. o_O
Yes. I was thinking, finally-a real awkward photo!
I could be wrong, but I’m thinking that if you unzipped those suits, you’d find….CORN!
That’s what I was thinking. Ears of CORN!
In regards to the annual “Farnsworth family costume party” Jim could have sworn his wife said “Broccoli Spears” not Brittany Spears when he went to order.
^_^
So many times have I wanted the back story….never more so than now.
I agree…. ! There is just too many things wrong here. My poor brain is overloading. Which one is responsible for the “green tea”?

You are a freaking genius.
Holy wow- you are a freaking genius! I never wouldve gotten that. Rock on Sarah!
Wow, Sarah, very perceptive…Is that you on the left?
I wonder if they walked around like that, too?
BAhahahaha I love the look on the girl’s face.
An invasion force from Remulak in disguise.
Yes, they are coneheads in another failed attempt to “blend in”.
The house, and the hangers, look like they’re from England.
Sure hope they aren’t from my neighbourhood
What’s with the hangers? Going green with clothes dryer?
Worse than that…why is the radiator/heater mounted near the ceiling? Doesn’t heat rise all on its own?
The radiator is clearly there to help the clothes on the air drier dry more quickly.
They should have gone all out and painted their faces and hands green. I’m just sayin’…
Right?! I mean, if you’re dressing like a plant, be in it to win it.
Looks like they’re being robbed by a cactus nectar thief. “Stick ‘em up”.
HAHAHAHA
They are ‘lucky bamboo’.
lol… orrrr as the one on the left is probably thinking…. unlucky.
that’s just mean! LOL
Cacti? Or Sleestaks?
litte one on the left: “You shall all feel my wrath!”
The poor kid on the far left looks miserable.
If they are supposed to be cactii, why does the girl with glasses wear what looks like a bandolier full of bullets?
The Cacti version of The Killer Bee
Hah!!! lol
I’m thinking “Invasion of the Bodysnatchers”.
OMG! The one on the left is killing me! Never has a face said “can I take it off now?” more than that!
And while I’m at it… what’s with the ammo belt drawn on the girl in the back? Joshua Tree Rambo?
I don’t think that’s a girl
Awkwarder!
lolol
That’s most definitely a girl O_o
It looks like tire marks to me.
honestly, if i was wearing that..i would most DEFINITELY want someone to run me over and save me the embarrassment..(hence the tire marks)
We’re Gumby, Damn It!!!
LOL!!!
LOL!!
Also titled: “The Little Cactus That Didn’t Want To Be There.”
He’s just being a little prickly.
HAHAHA!
To me it’s more like the gang green hehehe
LOL A+
