Poor little kid-I think the position her legs are in is hysterical. She literally went down face first!
The best part is that someone was at the ready with the camera and got the great shot! Wow. The dad and the kid will never live that down now.
Little froggy girl is gonna come up screaming from this one. Poor little thing.
The scary part is that the dad’s leg is probably missing because it’s up in the air as a result of the throwing motion he used on his child.
Adults actually have lots of spinal injuries on the ol’ “Slip ‘N’ Slide.” Awkward toy.
When I was a young teen (circa 1972) the only things better than a home made slip and slid were bottle rockets and those great old school Lawn Jarts!

I am undoubtedly going to hell for laughing as hard as I just did at that poor girl’s misfortune. My office mate just died, too. ;-D

I was just playing on a slip-n-slide the other day, and let me just announce to anyone who is wondering:
That “stopper” isn’t worth jack. You still need to make sure you clean up any dog poop past the runway.
I bet she got pushed with his foot, thus one is missing. Otherwise I think we’d still see his hands in the picture.

OMG! I am cracking up about the one-legged dad! I never noticed that before, but it makes it even more funny! I have no idea where his other leg is! And, just for the record, it looks bad, but she wasn’t hurt at all – didn’t even cry. She just emerged a little smarter – never let dad throw her again!
Okay, this is AWESOME! I’m sure the little girl is fine or they wouldn’t have sent this in. This is inspiring me to post an awkward family story. Stay tuned.

This looks like a fancy slip and slide. There seem to be 3 lanes so that you can race. The one in the middle is at an advantage. While the outside lanes are being permanently scarred by the metal stakes, the center lane is home free straight to the 2 inch deep kiddie pool at the end.
I haven’t been able to stop laughing for about 15 min now. There should be a warning on this picture, I had a mouth full of coffee before I saw this. You owe me a mouth full of coffee…and a new keyboard.

this is funy.. ive seen many many an injury on our makeshift slipnslide.. giant black tarp, bucket loads of dishwashing liquid and water. just watch out for the fence, the giant gum tree and that annoying guy who keeps falling on his head and just sitting there..

no no, this isn’t funny. whenever children and old people get hurt, it’s not funny. If it was a 14 even, then it would be funny, but not a little child. I hated slip-n-slides, I like the new air water slides. Also they did bring back the slip-n-slide it now has a blow up thing at the end for a “stopper”.
Oh, Barbie, I am SOOO with you on that! Other people’s misfortune is seldom witty or amusing. It’s cruel. If it were someone pompous and unpleasant, then maybe…. Laughing at this maybe says more about the people doing the laughing. Think on.

This isn’t an amazingly funny snap (like the high leg lean), but it’s worth a laugh.
Presumably it was sent in by a family member, or (more likely) the kid herself. I’m sure they’ve gotten over the terrible of sliding down a bit of smooth, wet plastic on their face and can now have a little chuckle at it themselves, and – as it was sent in to this site – would clearly like you to have a chuckle at it too.
Is it tough? Going through life with absoloutely no sense of humour?
She wasn’t hurt! It looks bad, but she didn’t even cry (okay, only a little bit!) But she went right down the slip-n-slide about 15 more times, and there wasn’t even brain damage – I know this because she never let her dad throw her again! I’m her mom, and she’s about to turn 5 now – no permanent damage – and she loves this picture – laughs every time she sees it! I should mention she has 3 brothers – this was nothing!

Very funny!!! I remember growing up with these and they finally took them off the market because of this…or else you’d just slide off the end and on to the lawn…on to your sidewalk…in to the street. They were fun!
Did they really take these off the market? Wow. We used to make ghetto ones with some big roll of plastic my dad had and stake it to the ground with wire hangers. Add hose, enjoy your friction burns.
We did the ghetto slide too! We used garden stakes that had sharp points at the tops of them. Sty in the middle kiddos!
They still make them. We bought one last year! they now have ‘pools’ at the end. Just makes a more spectacular finish to your humiliation.
I just bought one 3 days ago for my nephews and Niece. My sister was like, “THANKS.” Nice sarcasim sis. But the kids are stoked.
They are still out there for sale folks! Just remember to NOT place bricks on the end corners..they kind of hurt! lol
