The real brilliance of this picture is that the family looks so normal and happy…and then, you see, the EYE.
It’s like the scene in “Blue Velvet,” where there is a small, all-American town, everything looks all Norman Rockwell-ish, and then you see…a severed ear.
And anyone who can go back three comments can see that it’s NOT ‘shopped. Which has been repeated over and over and over again. Go check out the progression of photos and watch Aunt Telcia’s increasing level of panic — it’s morbid fun for the whole family!
So, for those who keep insisting that the pic is Photoshopped, did they Photoshop all the pics in the Flickr stream too? Or are you all just having fun trolling?

there’s a back story to it… this is the secon post of this pic… on the first one it explains Telcia was taking a nap on the couch when the whole family decided to take a pic… sitting on her!!! that’s why she’s got that look on her eye… and no… it is NOT photoshopped… there are also more pics somewhere on this site showing what happened before and after this pic was taken…
OK, so I’m really into this photo thinking there is really nothing wrong, and what is it with all of the comments, and then, of course, my stomach drops. A very good use/abuse of Photoshop. Whoever did this up did it just right.

I could actually see a lot of brothers and/or sisters doing this. I read back farther in the comments and found the link to the series of pictures that show the set up. The one thing that made me question the “photoshop theory” is that the face was really red and looked strained, as if she were being sat on.
Definitely photoshopped. They are sitting on high cushions, which gave them the space to stick a face in there on photoshop and make it look like they were sitting on someone. But it’s still a funny picture.
Guys, you can tell it is NOT photoshop. Look at the height of the people’s… ahem, bottoms, relative to the cushions, and also look at the bulge of the cushions in the front. It is just a soft sofa and they covered her with a blanket too I think before they all piled on. Obviously there is no ‘back story’ either, except that they all thought it would make a great picture (which it did). This is staged… it was no accident.
i can just hear it now…
mom: “Telcia, clean up your room…”
telcia: “NO!”
mom: “ok, family, you heard her… everyone dogpile on Telcia and someone grab the camera… she’s gonna clean up her room if it kills her…”
susie: “if it kills her, can i have her room???”
Either they *had* to have known she was there – and did a fantastic job keeping the kids’ facial expressions void of knowledge or this was photo shopped!
Please add me to the list of folks who would really appreciate the back story.

You can see that they are not sitting directly on the couch–there’s something (this lady) between their butts and the couch cushions.
