Don’t even think about bringing up Tuesday to these four.

What are these Sweet Adelines doing here? Of course their costumes match, they’re a quartet. I’ve been in Sweet Adelines for five years, and my mom and grandma even longer, so this doesn’t seem awkward to me, as I know that the costumes are a part of presentation and being seen easily on stage. In fact, this is probably one of the better quartet costumes I’ve seen.
can’t believe nobody said it -
these are the REAL Golden Girls!
(RIP, Rue :’) )
As someone who spent, oh, a decade in the a cappella world, it took less than a tenth of a second to scream “Aaaaaack! SAI!”
It’s not the music that makes it awkward. It’s the matching nail polish/lipstick/eyeshadow/sequins!
That’s not how you spell ‘Gift’ at all…..
the woman with the H didn’t show so they had to think of something else to spell
Sweet Adelines quartet … women’s barbershop.
And it’s probably not that old a shot either. I wonder if they’re still around.
We are all still alive if that’s what you mean! Don’t remember what year this was taken, maybe 2006?
I’d love to read your comments about our bright pink blouses that sort of made us look like big birds….
If you can’t laugh at yourself life isn’t much fun is it?
Happy to have contributed to this site! Thanks to the brother of one of us who brought this to our attention.
love how the one on the looks like she thinks she might hit her head on the top of the photo and needed to duck. I hate when people “scrinch down” in photos because they think the fon’t fit. Usually the photographer will tell you to move, or will move the lens slightly.
Well I dunno about the rest of you but the first thing I thought when I saw this was “Thank God I’m Female”!!
It’s Tina, Ginger, Irene, Francis…………I know it’s the quartet but to me, it was a little funny to say that!
After the photo shoot, they all went out to celebrate with Mudslides at TGI Fridays!
Have you got a case of the Mondays?
their original name was The Aqua-nettes…..but that was a lot of letters to hold up.
Ahh the waitresses!
I’ll have the ribs and a beer. Thanks.
odds are they all talk s**t about each other.
The gal on the right has a dynamite smile and is smokin’ hot!
LOL, i thought of those singing sisters on SNL…”clang clang clang went the trolley, ding ding ding went the bell….”
OMG that is funny! I remember that skit!
They meant to spell “gift,” but they’re a little dyslexic.
Actually, they gig as the “Senot-Dyslexi.”
(Don’t request “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” either -They were a quintet until that day…)
Anyone ever see the late night Showtime movie “The Cougar Club?”
I assume this is a very perky sweet adolines barbershop quartet. Thanks dad for filling my head with this random store of information.
is this available in poster size?
Friday nights they hold up the letters T G I F.
The other six days they hold up W T * ?
On Tuesday and Thursday it’s
So which one is the Mary Kay pusher? I can tell who the addicts are. My bet is on Gail .. rather than Tricia, Francine or Inez.
I think they played at my bar mitzvah
They are an awesome Jimi Hendrix cover band
Yeah, I know, that was really lame.
TGIF; the only thing missing is U.
When was this pic taken? Something scary tells me it was recently.
Looks like they sing
anyone else thinking of the Lawrence Welk skits on SNL with the sister singing groups, where Kristen Wiig is invariably the 4th sister with some kind of horrible birth defect?
LOL yes the one on the left reminds me of her b/c she has got the funniest expression of them all!!!!!!!!!!!
*Spittake* YES!!! I LOVE those sketches, and yes, this does look like parodies of the Lawrence Welk females!
Sesame Street has been brought to you by the letter T, the letter G, the letter I and the letter F.
eighty percent sure the one on the right was my third grade teacher
i think that’s britney spears
Wow! You’re right! lol.
The worst part of this: the comic sans.
For sure my favorite comment.
LOL, so true! Great comment!
You beat me to it. Not a fan of the Comic Sans.
That font is everywhere I look. It drives my graphic-designer wife insane..
~ My thoughts, my thoughts!
HAHAHAHA. I hate Comic Sans!
I really hate comic sans too– but this is Kristen ITC, the *second* most-hated font!!
@Karen: I was also thinking they were Sweet Adelines Quartet! Their costumes have “barbershop” written all over it.
Even if they’re 4-tuplets there is no reason on God’s green earth for dressing exactly alike (even the shoes??? C’MON!!!) This is WRONG WRONG WRONG!!! . . . *collapses in a heap*
They’re a competing quartet… They HAVE to dress alike!
Yes, it’s probably the TGIF quartet from Ohio.
wow, you’re right!
Of course I’m right, I did a Google search!
And I’m a barbershopper (tenor of Prairie Fire from Kansas).
TGIF is a talented quartet of beautiful women. If this is a “family” photo, then I am just one of their 25,000 proud “sisters”!
Good call! My mom used to be active in Sweet Adelines, and these types of costumes are pretty standard for women’s barbershop choruses and quartets. In fact I think these are probably some of the nicest ones I’ve seen. (Some of them can be extremely matronly, but these really aren’t bad, relatively speaking.)
Sorry, this one’s not awkward for me, except maybe for the expression of the woman on the left.
I applaud your attention to detail!
Well, at least that explains the outfits.
TGIF actually stands for: “Thank God It’s Frosted.”
Too funny. Thanks!
this four are probably a barbershop quartet dummies!
Yes, I believe that they are a barbershop quartet and a very nice-looking one at that!
