It’s ‘remarkable’ really! Bless their hearts!

  2. The best part for me was the end where your grand-dad removes his glasses and rubs his eyes in exhaustion.

  3. Kaisa says:

When grandma kept saying that it was awkward, I was thinking to myself, “It’s supposed to be awkward! That’s what the book is called!” This is hilarious! Non-stop laughter.

  4. Jody says:

Wish I still had my Grandparents. This is priceless.

  5. Marie says:

  8. Missy says:

Too funny! Makes me really miss my grandparents! Your grandparents are such a cute couple! You will have to let us know when or IF they ever make it past the cover of the book! 😉 lol

  9. Cynthia says:

Sadly I’m only turning 40 this year. Why is that sad, you ask? Because I seriously cannot wait til it’s my turn to be a grandparent exactly like this. I fully intend to absolutely positively adopt a Brooklyn accent and WORK IT LIKE I OWN IT. Never mind that I was born in Florida, dammit, I’m a Jew and it’s my right to be an awesomely hilarious old lady. I have about 35 years to work on my husband, who actually was born in Queens but has no accent.
Anyway. This is not all about me. I <3 your grandparents so very much!! They totally need a TV show.

  10. I think I love your grandparents. And I miss my own. 🙁

  11. Julie says:

I adore these two. If I order the book will they come over and read it to me? I could watch them all day discussing things. Thank you for sharing them with all of us.

  19. Mr. Ken says:

And I thought my grandparents 6 hour thanksgiving discussion about Joy Bahar’s hair color was funny.

  20. Patricia says:

BWA HA HA! Just as I was thinking that maybe you glued the pages together and they COULDN’T open the book, you remarked that they just wouldn’t make it past the over. I will forever think of any photo I see here as, “Oh, THAT’S awkwood.” Love them a bunch!

  21. troy says:

guf, faw! i can’t wait to get past the cover and see the eye of my one sister, from underneath the family of my other sister!

Can’t judge a book by its cover. Er… wait. Maybe you can.

  32. Kelli says:

I LOVE the grandparents! I can’t wait for my copy of the book to come in the mail!

  33. Andi from NC says:

Is there anyway to apply for them to adopt me as an honorary grandchild? I love these 2 so much. And they clearly love their grandchildren because they are taking the COVER of the book so seriously.

I propose that you post a weekly snippet of them examining the minutia of one page each week – that would rock!

  34. appleve says:

    your grandparents are just awesome!

  35. Emz says:

I want them to be my grandparents!! Talk about awkward! LOVE THEM!

  36. mandy_Reeves says:

Can’t wait for my copy to arrive! Finally get to see my grandparents immortalized for all eternity in book form! They are the couple in 70’s formal wear, holding each others elbows, in the middle of the tangerine/mustard yellow shag carpeted gold brocade curtained living room, with the brown and burnt orange tweed/wool upholstered couch.

  37. manz says:

On the They Might Be Giants album Miscellaneous Tea, they have a snippet of an older couple leaving a message on a joke hotline put out by the band. They saw the add in The Village Voice and have no idea who the band is or what joke is about. They discuss this at length on the message that they leave. Your grandparents are exactly like that couple here.

  38. Jan says:

Wunnerful, Wunnerful. It just doesn’t get any better than that!

  39. missliss says:

    HAHAHAHAHAH I<3 the AFP grandparents!

  40. Sensi says:

they are so cute..I LOVE THEM<3

  41. julia says:

oh my goodness I’m laughing so hard! I just kept hoping they’d open the book. but alas, they never did! That is something my parents would do! To this very day, when I photograph my portrait clients they always ask “Why isn’t she looking at the camera?” or “Why isn’t it in the center?” or my favorite (as dad is looking at a close up shot of a little baby) “I don’t get it. What are you trying to say with this picture?”.
    um, nothing dad, forget it.

  42. Hayden says:

    Man, I’m just dying here…

  43. Kristy says:

“There’s two girls between three boys. …Where’s the other girl? …Right there. …The top one’s not a girl. …OMG, you’re right, looks like a girl! …There’s one girl between four boys. That’s what’s awkward about it.”

(…Aaaaand spew the orange juice onto the keyboard.)

I’m on the third watching of this little gem. With each viewing, the snorts get louder. I’m so adopting the AFP grandparents.
