Wall-To-Wall - Family Portrait

“This picture is of my parents and older brother. I’m guessing it was when the “glorious” house was first purchased, but really who wants to show off cat scratching post type staircases? Too bad there are only two fist shelves in this photo!”

How thoughtful to consider that if the Jolly Green Giant stopped by, he might enjoy some nature photography at his eye level.

  2. MMB says:

    Stepford family.

  3. Chelsea says:

If the cats were actually in this photo, you could have this pic up on the awkward family photos site AND the awkward family pets photos site!

  4. Missy says:

This is just like an MC Ecsher painting. I can’t make heads or tails of any of their home. Perhaps it is the lighting or the three layers of stairs or the painting that is too modern for this wooden contraption.

Wait? What did I just say?

  5. Valerie says:

This is why most men should not be allowed to decorate.

  6. Terry says:

That would have me climbing the walls . . . .much less the cats . . . .

  7. Steve says:

There seems to be an M.C. Escher quality to this, but I can’t put my finger on it.

  8. Celia says:

That’s what you wall wall-to-wall-on-wall carpeting.

Does the carpet matches the drapes?.. wait.. the drapes are carpet

  11. Mic C says:

“Barb, We had a whole half a roll of carpet left over from the Johnson job. That Mrs. Johnson she had to have the best stuff you can buy and she threw a fit about the seams in the closets. And she ordered more than she needed even though we told her. Well, I know a real decorator way to use up the rest of that good carpet…..”

  12. Paulina says:

Were they trying to make their house look like a giant cat’s scratching post?

Seriously though, this reminds me of my aunt & uncle’s house when I was a kid in the 70’s. They had wall to wall shag carpet (I’m sure it was orange) and the had one of those sunken living rooms where the whole area in front of the fireplace was just a big carpeted pit. 70’s awesomeness at it’s best!

My grandparent’s house has a sunken living room. It seems cozier being a foot below the other rooms for some reason.

  17. meekameek says:

what a sinister looking bunch they are, something bout the way they are staring down at you and the carpet on the wall is scarey within it’s self….
