Did I say they were both boys? My bad, I meant the one on the left is my husband and the one on the right is his twin sister Joette. She is very beautiful as well and is married to a great guy named Tino….but unfortanetly she is still stuck in the 90′s.
Yoli, you got me in trouble with this comment…your mother in law chastises me on the next page for thinking they were not both men. I’m gonna go kick my own a** now, hope you’re happy.
Just kidding, my fault for not getting the joke. Please apologize to your MIL for me.
Ok Ok the jig is up! They are boys! I should know, I’m married to the one on the left and YES, he did grow up to be very handsome….although we did have to have a fashion talk when we first started dating…
Hey, I LOVED these pants. In 1989 I had a black pair, a white pair and a blue denim pair. These looked sharp with pointy toed black leather boots. I miss that whole era very much. Loved the mullets, Cavariccis, parachute pants and ice washed denim. Hey, it’s a whole lot better (IMO) than what we have now with white suburban boys trying to look ghetto with pants half hangin off their butts and everything all baggy. Cavaricci’s were baggy, but in a good way, with pleats and tapering. A very well made quality product. If Cavaricci were smart, they’d re-introduce these pants. All over the internet people are searching for old pairs and even Ebay doesn’t seem to have any left.
Boys. I would have had a huge crush on the guy rocking the black/dark blue combination and would have worn my cutest Limited miniskirt/sweater with matching legwarmers/high heeled pumps combo to catch his eye.
I think these are androgynous/ MTV/ Duran Duran style boys- look at their huge hands and their shoes! They have great hair, though, and I would have gone out with either of them in the 80′s with my own huge hair and Candies shoes and Merry-Go-round outfit.
I sold the most McD’s chocolate bars in my class to get a No Uniform Today card (NUT card) in 7th grade to wear my Z Cavs. When I finally saved the $86 and strutted (nay, sailed on roomy thigh-surplus denim) to the schoolyard, I realized that even wearing the coolest outfit possible was awkward when everyone else matches in plaid. I wish I had a picture of the epiphany…
I think these are both girls for sure and I think they look fantastic. A Z-buddy! That’s all I would’ve needed… First Cav Division of Cool! Yeah, clearly I haven’t made it very far since.
I hated those pants! I wore similar ones, of course, since they were “cool”, but I hated them! BTW – they are both boys! If they were female, the hair would be MUCH bigger!!
Nelson is a 1980′s rock band made up of identical twin brothers with very big hair and very similar outfits. Google them, and you’ll see why the caption for the picture is perfect.
Erm, just need to point out that these guys(?) are not sporting the mullet, they just have long hair. Which they apparently curled. Guy on the left has slicked down his sides, probably with loads of mousse.
The true mullet is short up front and into the sides (business) and long in back (party).
The sad, sad fact is that this cut for pants is making a resurgence in Europe right now (plus some almost even worse variations). I live in the metropolis of Amsterdam and they are EVERYWHERE. Since America is usually a little behind on fashion trends all I can say is, guys, brace yourselves: they’re on their way.
I’m getting Lost in [Their] Eyes. I’m going to be Right Here Waiting for them. Wait, is this burning an Eternal Flame? Sorry, it would take More Than Words to express how devastatingly attractive I would have found these guys in 1989-1993.
I actually remember refusing to buy these for my daughter because I thought they were so ugly… she had to save up her allowance to get them! But I knew what they were in this picture before I read the caption! Worst jeans ever manufactured, bar none.
Merry Go Round & Cignal sold these pants. I worked at the home office in Joppa, MD. I was there until the last day when they shut the doors. Such a cool place to work for. Warehouse sales ROCKED!
I remember another store in the mall called Zachary’s that sold Z Cavs. (And I remember one of my lame friends tried to convince me that Zachary’s was pronounced zuh-CAR-ees.)
Button direction doesn’t really matter for girls. I used to wear my dad’s butterfly collar shirts (that he actually bought in the 70′s)because I thought they were SO cool. Would I wear them today….probably not!
Wow those are some sweet bangs! They are definitely rocking those pleated pants. Some serious business going on in the front and the party is sneaking over the shoulder.

Cool, AC Slater pants!
I thought they were both boys because of the shoes.

is it just me or do they look like kristen stewart?
I thought the SAME thing!!!!!!
I didn’t know Justin Bieber had a twin.

They look like they belong in Cheap Trick!

I think one is a boy, and one is a girl. Could the poster of this photo please clear this up? It’s PAT!
Hilary Swank(s)?

Okay…very funny guys, but I’d like this page back from my 1988 high school yearbook.
I hated those pants! I wore similar ones, of course, since they were “cool”, but I hated them! BTW – they are both boys! If they were female, the hair would be MUCH bigger!!
The chick on the right is hot!
Oh yes, I had those pants. What were we thinking!? Amazing what we’ll do in the name of fashion.
Nelson? I don’t get it….
Ricky Nelson had twins who became pop stars for a minute.
Matthew and Gunnar

Look up the Nelson brothers in the 1980′s and you’ll get the reference.
Fact I don’t know why I know…the Nelson twins are also Mark Harmon’s nephews, just throwing that out there.
“Do I, do I love you bab…”
O.o
“Dude..”
o.O
“-ette…”
:/
“Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, More than Everrrrrrrr”
XD

Tegan and Sarah?
2 guys….I bet today they are very attractive!

*wretch*
Nnnnnooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!
For the record, I work for H&M and we had jersey ones all summer….and likely twill ones this fall. Sigh.
At least the butts will finally be covered up again…sheesh I’m old.
Looking at the hands, I’d say the one on the left is a guy and a girl is on the right.
The most awkward thing about this picture is that I used to dress like this… and I thought I was the s***.
Two pretty girls….what? They are not girls???? Sorry, my bad.
So, are they boys or girls? I really can’t tell.
I’m getting Lost in [Their] Eyes. I’m going to be Right Here Waiting for them. Wait, is this burning an Eternal Flame? Sorry, it would take More Than Words to express how devastatingly attractive I would have found these guys in 1989-1993.
Score!
Hahaha! That’s awesome!
I’m so…confused.
Stay that way…it’s safer.
I disagree. Zubazs were the bomb.
I actually remember refusing to buy these for my daughter because I thought they were so ugly… she had to save up her allowance to get them! But I knew what they were in this picture before I read the caption! Worst jeans ever manufactured, bar none.
Double your pleasure. Double your pleats!
lol – excellent!
def a win!
Can someone explain? I just don’t understand.
I am confused about the gender on this one… HELP!
Chess King called, they want their outfits back!!
OMG! I worked there in the 80′s…hilarious now…but we were so cool back then.
Merry Go Round & Cignal sold these pants. I worked at the home office in Joppa, MD. I was there until the last day when they shut the doors.

Actually it was Zachry’s. Only one ‘a’
Am I the only one wondering if these are boys or girls??
Girls. The belts are definitely women’s belts. Plus, check out the direction of the shirt buttons. Men’s button the other direction.
“Good Work Watson”.
HAHAHAHA. Kudos for great use of obscure reference
Button direction doesn’t really matter for girls. I used to wear my dad’s butterfly collar shirts (that he actually bought in the 70′s)because I thought they were SO cool. Would I wear them today….probably not!
Mahahahahaha, my husband was wearing those in his senior picture… now thats a picture that should be on this website…
So what’s stopping you from posting it?
I think he would d.i.v.o.r.c.e. me… he won’t even let our daughter see it.. lol
shore are some “pretty” boys….or are they girls…..love the hair….
I think those are Outback Red pants from The Limited. I had soooo many pairs of those in the 80s…!
LOL – or not. I just saw the Z Cavariccis reference. Still, I loved my Outback Red pants which were amazingly similar.
My EX used to wear Outbcak Red stuff….
Nah, Z Cavariccis always had the white label on the fly– these both have a label.
Oh man! I used to LOVE my Zs!
Wow! What we wore that we thought we looked oh so cool in. Total fashion don’t.
I want to see the “after” photo.
Are these males or females????? Or one of each???? Or none of each???????
Meet Pat and Chris…the androgynous twins. They’re handsome AND beautiful.
I’m thinking female, but I just can’t tell!!!!
LOL!
I think I dated their cousin Kelly.
Awesome comment because I’m thinking the same thing! LOL!
I think the one on the left qualifies as a mullet…
holy crap, infamous Z Cavarricci pants, with mullets and a vest no less.. wow.. add some parachute pants into the mix and I’d say welcome back 1986!
I think I have the word for the look of these pants, especially on really thin guys: Zootschwitz – halfway between Zoot Suit and Auschwitz.
Ha, ha!
GUYS????? I thought those were women…….
lol – so did I!
Mc Hammer Jeans?
Hey man, Z-Cavs were awesome!
I loved Z Cavs. They were the coolest!
Wow those are some sweet bangs! They are definitely rocking those pleated pants. Some serious business going on in the front and the party is sneaking over the shoulder.
“Some Serious buisness going on in the front and the party is sneaking over the shoulder.”
I love that!
