This is taken at night because it is a time lapse photo. The shutter stays open while the people do their wardrobe changes and move to new places. The photographer sets off the flash to illuminate them in their new spots. You can see the grass through the basketball player, cat lover, and sax player’s legs because they were exposed second and the grass is lighter than their blue pants. I think this photo is really cool actually. Makes me want to pull out my old SLR and tripod and experiment with night photos. Thanks for sharing!
If it was time lapse, and the shutter remained open while they set up, then you would see streaks everywhere that they had moved, and it was be a blurry mess. This is a double exposure: 2 pictures taken in the same frame. This feature was on my mom’s film SLR,and I played with it a couple times….made my cousin look like he had an evil twin. It’s very different than keeping the shutter open.
First of all, the ghostly double exposure thing is just weird.
Second, why aren’t the dads switched? Not that dad in the suit makes sense on either side, but wouldn’t basketball dad have fit in better with sports mom and kid?
Third, hmmmmm. Dad likes basketball, Jr. likes to play the sax and mom likes….to hold the cat?
I could go on, but this is so weird it’s making my head hurt!
At first I thought they were twin families, then figured out that it was two shots of the same family… very strange that Dad dressed up for one. Perhaps they were portraying their school roles, and he was a principal?
That’s a multiple exposure photo! I’m just realizing that… that’s why the Dad on the right’s legs are partially see-through! Couldn’t they just decide on one set of talents!?
It’s an intentional double exposure, most likely they had the camera set up on a tripod and snapped two pictures without advancing the film. *Click* Take picture one. Everybody change clothes and stand a few feet to the side of where you just posed. *Click* Take picture two. Two photos, one piece of film.
Okay, I was going to make a comment about how “dad” is suited up to symbolize his Barney Stinson-like ladies’ man skills, but then I saw that suit guy and basketball guy look like they might be the same guy, and I got confused and a little frightened. I think I’ll have to go lie down for a while.
So dad ‘suits’ the situation by being on the ‘ball’. The son makes a ‘note’ that he’s on the ‘ball’ as well. Mom thinks it’s all ‘purr’fectly clear,it’s a ‘racket’
I’m really confused…is it three sets of twins? Or the same family photoshopped twice into the weird night time background? Anyway, the caption is golden
Is this a split screen picture…looks almost like the same people on each side of the pic, just dressed differently. P.S. Who’s blood puddle is next to Mr. Basketballs foot?
This might be my imagination but is this three people photographed twice? Suit man looks like Basketball man … Tennis babe looks like Cat Woman … and Soccer boy looks like Band Geek …

You know, if he’d worn the suit while posing w/ sax-player & crazy cat lady this picture would almost work. It’s a pretty fun idea for a family photo.
The dad is HOT, HOT, HOT!!!!
It’s funny ,isn’t it?
And the 3 on the right are obviously talented ghosts who can come back from the dead… see their transparent legs!!
cracking up!!! but why does he look IDENTICAL to the “man-son” spinning the basketball?
So, the sister’s talent is being a cat lady?
My thoughts exactly!
Oh, where to even BEGIN on this one!
First of all, the ghostly double exposure thing is just weird.
Second, why aren’t the dads switched? Not that dad in the suit makes sense on either side, but wouldn’t basketball dad have fit in better with sports mom and kid?

I know. Alex had to go lie down for awhile!
And Mom’s talent is to strangle the cat.
love the comment. why did they have to stand so far apart, and why was it dark???
So… is Dad the manager?
Wow how did they get three sets of identical twins to pose at the same time?? Oh wait….
And mom’s talent is holding an angry cat…..
And Mom’s is running with cats. BTW, is that a guinea pig next to the saxaphone player’s feet?
You really made me curious. I zoomed in as much as I could.. I think it’s a pattern in the grass that looks a lot like a guinea pig.
Bwahahaha! I zoomed in too. Very observant of you!
Dad’s big sport is the rat race.
are these the same people on both sides? Am I imagining this?
At first I thought they were twin families, then figured out that it was two shots of the same family… very strange that Dad dressed up for one. Perhaps they were portraying their school roles, and he was a principal?
But Dad’s ghost is great at basketball.
It appears dad’s other talent is replicating himself. He’s a baller too, yo.
And apparently ‘holding cats’ is a fine talent as well!
And cloning himself and his family. This picture is a fake!
That’s a multiple exposure photo! I’m just realizing that… that’s why the Dad on the right’s legs are partially see-through! Couldn’t they just decide on one set of talents!?
Duh for answering all my own questions
Wait, is the guy in the suit the same as the guy with the basketball? They look identical!
Actually, it looks like two different pictures glued together… they ALL look like the same people, just two different sets of outfits!

Ooh, on the right side, the man is a ghost and the woman is sitting on air! Be afraid!
Oh and he’s really, really good at that. lol.

ding, ding, ding…winner
Oh yeah? Well I think holding a cat takes a lot more talent than wearing a suit! But that’s just me.
Another highly awkward point: a posed family portrait outside….at night.
P.S. That caption really made me laugh.
I just realized that it is the same 3 people in the photo….nice use of the double exposure function.
why was this done at night?
Dang solar eclipses…ruin a good photo every time.
Well mom’s talent is “Holding Cats”.
And mom is a pro at cat-holding?
Woah! DOUBLE FAMILY!
Looks like dad and son also share the talent of being able to disapear.
I’m really confused…is it three sets of twins? Or the same family photoshopped twice into the weird night time background? Anyway, the caption is golden
…and playing basketball. Oh, the wonders of the double exposure.
Is it me, or are Basketball Brother’s legs disappearing “Back to the Future” Style?
Is this a split screen picture…looks almost like the same people on each side of the pic, just dressed differently. P.S. Who’s blood puddle is next to Mr. Basketballs foot?
My guess is that’s where they marked the ground so they’d know where to pose for part 2 of the double exposure used to make this pic.
I love how dad and the oldest son look exactly alike!
He does wear that suit well.
Obviously Dad is the suit salesman who funds all these activities.
ha ha, this photo is kinda cool! I like it – intentional double exposure!
WTF? Are they all twins?
Um, weird.
And Mom’s alter ego talent has something to do with a cat? Hmmmm
Gotta look spiffy while doing nothing! Do these people only come out at night, like vampires?
The guy in the middle seems to be misting away.
He didn’t get his mom and dad to kiss at the fish under the sea dance.
Uh, the ENCHANTMENT Under the Sea dance??
You’re just not thinking three dimensionally. Great scott!!!
This might be my imagination but is this three people photographed twice? Suit man looks like Basketball man … Tennis babe looks like Cat Woman … and Soccer boy looks like Band Geek …
I believe you’re right…
Dang! That tennis player has got it goin on! And that is no joke!
“Yes, Basil, nice…”
