This is classic. Anyone in a leotard is pretty much automatically awkward. And Im sure we all remember the neon/rainbow/tie-dye fads of the early 90′s with fondness.
I have no idea how it got here either. Although I hate to admit it, I do agree that the photo has found a place here. I’m the big sister with cheeks that gotta see too. It’s too bad the sequined belts and wristbands don’t sparkle more in this photo… Dang.
Wow. I have no idea how this got here; I’m pretty sure I didn’t submit it. But I will admit to being in this photo. That’s me and my big sister in 1991. Plus, bangs that I tried to cut myself and my mom had to fix.
I’d like to point out that this picture has not been cropped in any way. The photographer actually took the picture like that, with half a lion, cutting off fingers and toes, and the lovely line of my totally awesome splits.
When the girls first posed, the lion was centered behind them. But he’s been slowly moving sideways – even an inanimate object knows awkward when he sees it.
THANK GOD! I was going through “Jazz Hands” withdrawal! It’s been so long since we’ve seen painted up young dancers showing us their spirit. Truly a pot of gold at the end of these rainbows.
I’m impressed that the little kid can do the splits. There are 5 things I’ve alreadys wanted to do: Learn the vibes, learn Esperanto, learn to count, and learn the splits.

Jeff has the best comment by far. Nice one!
You look kinda like Anne Hathaway! (albeit Anne Hathaway doing Jazzercize, but all the same) Does anyone else see it or am I crazy?

Good one, Jeff.

In other news, who’s job was it to tell them what too much rouge looks like?
Someday we’ll find it, the rainbow connection.
The lovers, the dreamers and meeeee…. and my little sister!

Wristbands and handbands X 2= $13
Turquoise shiny bodysuit x 2 = $26.82
Dual jazz hands rainbow brite sister memories…priceless.
“Those aren’t spirit fingers….THESE are spirit fingers!”
These girls are superstars, Mary Katherine Gallagher style.
Sometimes, when I get nervous, I stick my hands under my armpits and than I smell them like this!
Can anyone say Jazz Hands??
It’s adorable!! But yes…..where there are jazz hands there must be awkward…..nice one!
JAZZ HANDZZZZZZZZ
Awkward in ways I can’t put into words.

Learn to count?
oooohhhh I see what you did there!
Me and my sister have this same EXACT picture. We were in this dance club, Rosette’s and have a picture in our spandex in front of that lion!!!
Christie! You were there! I’m sure I have a team photo somewhere….
“we’re all…stars.”
Oh. Oh. Oh my God! Oh my God! It’s so beautiful! What does it meeeeaan?! What does it mean? *tears*
Nice one.
You read my mind. Scary.
SO VIVID
What is the headgear on the front girl? Or is that just her hair in the famous “tombstone” haircut?
She seems to have the same hairdo and headgear as the back girl. You may be thrown off by the black patch on the back girl’s shirt.
