“So my Dad’s landlord, who is trying to bring business back to his failing modeling agency (failing probably because he takes photos like this), volunteered to take pictures of my dad and I. He dressed and posed both of us, and this was the result. Oh, his instruction for our facial expression was “Give me stubborn! Give me sassy!”

If it was just Clarity I’d say it was a great shot. Put looking at the photo before the caption I wanted to yell, “ACK! Lady, look out behind you!”
the landlord “dressed and posed” both of you……that would have been enough to make me run in the opposite direction. Very Awkward!

I love that the photographer included the guy wearing white and sitting on the other side of the pool in such a way to make it look as though Charity’s dad has that whole “Angel on my shoulder” thing going. Charity, you are absolutely stunning.

The father-daughter juxtaposition here is just immeasurably bizarre. That said, Clarity could have a future in modeling (or would, if beautiful women with healthy proportions weren’t automatically excluded – only near-anorexics need apply). But the outfit the “photographer” dressed her in is also awkwardly weird to a disturbing degree.

The most awkward part to me is the poor grammar. It’s “Dad and ME,” not “Dad and I,” because she and her dad are the objects and not the subjects of the sentence

I’m a copy editor, which is to say a professional grammar and usage geek, and I recommend that you (which is to say Me) cut it out. Didn’t your mom ever tell you, “There is a time and a place for that sort of thing”?
In this case, the context is informal, the usage is idiomatic, the meaning is clear. Stet.

It’s actually kind of an interesting photo, if I didn’t know it was a father and daughter. It’s the kind of picture I’d expect to see in Rolling Stone magazine, next to a feature article about an eccentric Hunter Thompsonesque character who lives in the desert, writes seedy crime novels, and lives with his much younger nurse/assistant/trophy wife.
Who looks so much like him that it’s obvious she’s his daughter!??!!
