Yep, Kenai river just below the Russian River confluence. That handicapped spot has long made me consider hauling in a wheelchair. The fish stack up along about a 60 meter stretch that hardly anyone fishes while it’s shoulder to shoulder for a mile each side.
So funny! This is at the Russian River in Alaska! My boyfriend and I fish here all the time. It’s where they combat fish and are basically shoulder to shoulder so there is a small section for handicapped people. Otherwise they wouldn’t be able to fish.
It looks to me like Aunt Mar had a wonderful sense of humor! WONDERFUL photo, and that she sent it as a Christmas card, that’s just way too cool of her.
What does the handicap sign mean? Only handicap fish are allowed to swim there? Is that why we are not allowed to fish between the signs? Is Aunt handicapped? I have so many questions…
So, two inches into the “no fishing” area is where all the large fish hang out. Or is it handicapped fishing only there? Should Aunt Mar have been using a wheelchair on that side of the sign the way some folks “borrow” handicapped signs to hang over their rear view mirrors in order to get the good parking spots?
I guess we’ll never know.
I just certainly hope that someone likes fish — because that’s a LOT of fish.

This is SO going to be MY Christmas card this year!
There is life on Mars after all.
I’m not sure I get this, but okay.

YES….this picture is gold. LOL.
Nothing says “Merry Christmas” like a bunch of dead fish.
LOL!!
I love this woman.
Ditto.
THis is just plain awesomeness.
Yep, I completely agree.
Looks like the one fish is begging for his life!
They are not regulation size fish.

Is Mar short for Marnie?
“Yes.. my minions, if you do my bidding I will release you! Muwahaha!”
I think aunt Mar has had one fish too many already. Seriously … this was her Christmas card?
Perfect. A scratch and sniff Christmas card.
looks like Aunt Mar is on the sea(see)food diet…
Aaay caramba

I think she just bought a bunch of dead fish and laid them out in a pattern.
And those fish thought they were safe if they stayed between the signs! Ha! Way to show them Aunt Mar!!
the fish are looking up at grandma and thinking “LUNCH”
What I want to know is who took the picture?
She seems to be missing a pole. And where is the photographer standing? In the river/pond/stream/swimmin’ hole?
On the dock or a boat.. HELLO!!!! lol
I think it was photographed by Jesus
That certainly explains the fish.
Best. Comments. Ever
Oh Brian, you made me laugh so hard it could count as my cardio for the day.
I know! It doesn’t seem to be an active fishing expedition.
Gotta be Ohio. Am I right?

“No Fishing Between Signs”… What a rebel.
She must be really proud, putting it as a Christmas card!
I think they are waiting for her to fall in.
This is so funny! It took me a moment to notice the sign. I guess breaking the rules has its benefits!
Apparently the sweet spot was the “no fishing between signs” area.
