Boy, if I hadn’t noticed the socks, I’d be hard pressed to tell these two apart…

  2. Mz VonTwiz says:

If not for the socks, I’d be hard pressed to tell them apart…

  3. mercurialgirl says:

I *know* that this is not a childhood picture of Steph and Arley (it would violate laws of physics and time travel), but I did a triple-take when I saw it.

  4. tomek says:

the white socks look so out of place

  5. Bryan says:

Kid Sister! Kid Sister! Kid Siiiister and meeee!

  6. Penny Diamond says:

I think they look like the sweetest girls and they look so proud and happy to be wearing something they think is “cool”.

  7. Mifty says:

I might point out that professional writers and editors have very little regard for amateur “grammar police.” These childish copy-editor wannabes often make mistakes in their own postings, as in this case, and much of the time have no idea what they’re talking about. Even when a “grammar police” commenter is correct, to point out errors in others’ grammar, spelling, or usage unasked is incredibly rude.

Do these silly people imagine that anyone will read their comments and think, “Wow, what a clever, literate individual”? All anyone sensible thinks is “Wow, this person has no manners at all.”

  8. Dawne says:

Perhaps both girls agreed to wear a flag shirt OR shorts that day, forgot which one was assigned to them, and decided to wear both just in case. The girl on the right has just realized how flawed this plan was.

  9. steph says:

I don’t care how you spell it…does that really matter? God Bless America! and God Bless these two beautiful young ladies for being proud of their country.

  10. Deacon Blues says:

I think the big blue shirt pockets save these outfits from being a total fashion disaster. But then I’ve been known to wear plaid with houndstooth, so what do I know?

  11. soupaj21 says:

The girl on the right is like “Ha ha, Mom likes me best – I got the hat and socks too!”

  12. Ben says:

The flag pants are on backwards… THAT’S A DISTRESS SIGNAL, SEND HELP!!!

  13. Doughball says:

Someone’s mom got a sewing machine for Christmas!

  14. Laurie says:

Really! Grammar police and capitalization police comments on this site? Geez, major buzz kill! Way to take all the laughs out of this hilarious photo!!!

  15. Jangi says:

Makes me wonder how many years of therapy they had to endure afterwards.

  16. Bev says:

The grammar police academy should be appalled that this one slipped through the cracks!

  17. Marty says:

Relax everyone and enjoy the day like the kids in the picture are doing.

  18. Bev says:

I guess the proper use of capitalization is not taught in “grammar school”. But, hey those outfits are pretty hideous!

  19. bethany says:

There’s something very Tweedle Dee & Tweedle Dum about this pic. Poor kids.

  20. Joe says:

I’d be afraid someone would run me up the flagpole.

  21. T says:

    I feel underdressed.

  22. daddy-o says:

What the hell?!? – they couldn’t find TWO pairs of red-white-and-blue socks?

  23. Tom Flapwell says:

I read that the flag was deliberately designed with a combo of shapes and colors you wouldn’t normally put on clothes.

  24. Kootie says:

who knew there was that much flag material at the house of fabrics…

  25. HOK says:

The girl on the left resembles one of my college roommates! Are these kids from New York?

  26. Amy says:

Oh my…those poor, unfortunate girls! Hopefully they were allowed to change after the picture was taken! Bless their patriotic hearts!

  27. Jeff says:

Looks like their was enough fabric left over to make socks. Barely.
