It was time to put her ego in check.

Ralphie’s sister. She needs a Red Ryder BB gun
she reminds me of a cabbage patch kid for some reason haha
Why were those pictures modern in the USA? I don’t know anything like that from Europe. Where is the sense in it to have one front and one side view at the same picture? Doesn’t that rather look haunting?
I think the original idea is that it’s “artistic” and you get to enjoy two different angles of the same person. Usually the two images are set apart a little, but in this one they’re very close and…..awkward.
I think she is cute.
I had a similar style photo taken when I was only one and I was still in that androgynous phase. I swore that the second face was proof that I had a twin brother that my mom was hiding from me! Oh the crazy things kids believe.
This little girl is sooooo adorable. Seriously.
I was going to remark that on the right side she looks like an actual Cabbage Patch doll, but somebody beat me to it!
She’s a cutie pie! I, too have the exact same photograph from the mid to late 80s. I also wore those awful HUGE glasses that made my eyes look a zillion times bigger than they were. It makes me bittersweet because I was teased something fierce 🙁 I wish I could go back in time and give the little girl in the picture a big ol’ hug, and then give one to my own self as well.
It’s Mrs. Beasley!!
Too cute! What a cute kid. When I was a kid back in the 80’s, I don’t know why, but I saw that picture style at friends house, and for whatever reason, I always thought only rich people could afford to have pictures like that done. So I don’t have one of myself! Now I look back at this type of picture, and am kinda glad I never got one! HAHA! Guess it was the ‘IN’ thing to do since it was a new thing. Either way, what a cute kid. =-)
If my youngest was born in the 70s, this would be her.
I have the EXACT same photo of myself!!!
She looks both cute and devious at the same time. Adorable! She also looks like a real Cabbage Patch doll! WIN
haha. she was to good to look at the camera!
I’m Talky Tina, and I don’t like you.
I haven’t seen the episode in years, but can still “hear” it in my head. So much for sweet dreams tonight….
LOL! You’re exactly right. That episode both freaked me out and also made me wish I had a doll like that. Too funny that you should mention it!
Little Susie told everyone she had multiple personality disorder, now she has the proof!
If I could go back in time and eliminate certain fashion trends from history, one of them would be those horrible, gigantic coke bottle glasses all children of the 70s and 80s were forced to wear. You can see she is a beautiful child under those awful lenses!
A child that age can’t wear contact lenses, though. And she’s obviously far-sighted, which is what makes her eyes look so huge. Even under smaller lenses, this type of a correction would still make the eyes appear extra large, just as eyes under strong corrections for near-sightedness make the eyes appear much too small.
Oh I realize the lenses were what was needed for her and what we had available at the time. I’m just thinking that the frames are smaller and more kid friendly today. They were so heavy too because they used glass instead of plastic like today. Oh, I remember those days well, and not fondly!
Who ARE you people?
This Awkward Family Photos, not Progressive Optometry Weekly.
You have got to be kidding if you think these glasses styles were bad, i started wearing my glasses at 4 in 1961, and my choices were pink sparkled horn rimmed, blue non sparkled horn rimmed, blue boy style rims or clear horn rimmed with sparkles. To make things worse, i was far sighted so the lenses were thick and heavy and i had started using my eyes independently, so i was cross-eyed! I would have killed for a pair of glasses that made me look like Mrs Beasley! By the way, that is who she looks like, not a cabbage patch doll, get your dolls straight.
She’s as cute as can be… but I have to say my first thought was of the “minions” from “Despicable Me” 🙂
She’s adorable! She reminds me of the Tootsie Pop owl
I keep seeing Angelica from Rug Rats.
anyone remember the Mrs Beasley doll with glasses?
Oh gosh, yes! That was the creepiest doll on the planet. Dolls are supposed to be babies, not old ladies.
Movie poster for the remake of “Village of the Damned”
She’s a bit of a close talker!
Especially with the top photo, she looks like a real-life Cabbage Patch Kid! Wow.
That’s exactly what I said!
Look at those cute freckles ; what an adorable child.
Love the Sally Jessie Raphael glasses!! Gotta be late 80’s…
Aw, she looks like the girl version of little Ralphie from A Christmas Story! Very cute…but I’m really glad that whole “double image” portrait trend went out of style! When I was a kid, our school pictures were like that for a couple years and it always looked awkward.
I’m so glad someone else saw Ralphie, too!
Yep, I saw Ralphie too…..
LOVE the glasses. Really! 🙂
Some days it was hard to tell which twin was the evil one.
Ha ha ha!!! Yes!!!
She’s my invisible friend Charisse. Sometime she whispers to me and tells me what to do. Like when I put super glue on Billy’s lunchbox handle.
Shes a cutie. I cant even make fun of this 🙂
I thought so too!
