Wonder Woman - Behind The Awkwardness

“This is my mom and dad who went to visit my brother in Texas. They stopped off at a scenic overlook in Austin to take some pictures. I have no idea who that is in the background nor why they are dressed that way, but they obviously thought it was a Kodak moment too.”

UPDATE: Sooo… we heard from Jennifer, the Superhero in the background, and got her side of the story.

Screen Shot 2015-05-15 at 11.16.15 AM

“As for the pic, it was w/ a pro photographer for some promo work I was doing. My last name is Justice so I was doing a superhero theme.  I think this was like March ’09. OMFG, I’m still laughing! Too funny. Anyway, I’m not sure exactly whats going on w/ my face here but I’m sure its more annoyed w/ sun in the face and the wind doing the exact opposite of what we were wanting. I know we got the shot because I used it for awhile but I can’t seem to find it at the moment. Anyway, enjoy! I’ve got more family portraits to bomb… UP UP AND AWAY!!

I am way more creeped out by the floating lips in the tree at far right. They grow some interesting crops in Texas alright. (I’m guessing mirror for the girls?)

  6. Bec says:

*Sigh* i love cosplay. So unpredictable X)

  7. Tami c says:

Can you say PHOTO SHOP?! She has no shadow

    • FoxieSabby says:

can you say “I don’t know perspective?” She does have a shadow. It’s on her other side, going at an angle from the cliff to the shrub behind her. A shadow is going to be on the opposite side of a light source, and if the light source is on the right, the shadow is going to be on the left. 🙂

    • candee says:

she DOES have a shadow, it would be to the left of her, just like the shadow of the tree is to the left not behind her over a cliff….You’re a quick one, aren’t you?

  8. fenk says:

Looks like they stumbled upon Skyrim lol

Hahahaha! My son lives in Austin, too. The best thing I’ve seen yet is a guy on a street corner with a sign that says “Will work for weed”!

      • texascuz says:

Pretty sure the “weed” sign guy is my cousin. He tells me stories of him sitting with signs saying just that on corners in Austin.

  12. Texas Nelsons says:

  16. Joel says:

Austin’s slogan is “Keep Austin weird.” Evidently, this also applies to walking behind tourist’s pictures while in or nearby Austin. Mission accomplished.

  17. jennifer justice says:

I’m just so proud of dad for keeping his eyes forward.

  24. Shannonannon says:

we just had a comic book convention a few weeks ago in Austin…It’s kind of a thing that the tourists take pictures at Mount Bonnell. That particular weekend it’s just a more interesting view

  25. a-frame says:

Looks like Ursa just arrived from the Phantom Zone. Be careful, I bet General Zod isn’t far behind.

  26. tmansbamaw says:

I literally laughed out loud on this one! Thanks for making my day!

  27. wendy says:

The real super hero feat is how she is managing to keep those ~ahem~ “girls” aloft. Wow.

    • Mari says:

baaaaahahahaha wow you are so right
there has to be something going on there, they just cannot be so high up and big without anything holding them up

  28. It's me! Dee!!! says:

This photo is friggin’ hilarious!!!!!! Best photo ever. Awkward? I’ll say!!

  29. Peter says:

I don’t know that is either but I think I want one.

  30. livremaniac says:

    Photo torpedoes!

  31. rigidthree says:

When Vixen realized that Jim and Gladys had stumbled upon her secret lair..they unfortunately fell over the edge…a tragic “accident”!!

  32. Miss B says:

Oh, that’s me in the background! My family decided to picnic that day, so, typically, I was wearing my “hanging out with the family at the river” ensemble. You know, pleather swimsuit, gogo boots, and a cape (helps to protect my fair complexion). I couldn’t figure out why those strange people in the Texas shirt and yellow tank sweater kept following me around. Initially, I had assumed that the smell of mamaw’s fried chicken was luring them, but then it was as if they were trying to photograph me or something. Freaks!

  33. Scott says:

Don’t mess with Texas! They have super hero’s

  34. The wind is just right for the cape blowing effect too.

  35. Alan says:

“Greetings Earthlings. Request the location we are at…..oh,I see by the destination sign on your shirt, we’re at Texas.”

  36. Andrea says:

Without any further details, I’m going to make a wild guess that this is near Hippie Hollow by Lake Travis.

  37. Klutch says:

WOW. I wonder what her OTHER super powers are.

  38. binkymae says:

And this is why they sell “Keep Austin Weird” t-shirts.

  39. Evelyn says:

This one had me laughing at loud!

  40. CarrieM says:

Priceless! If you zoom in and look at Wonder Woman’s expression, it is totally pedestrian, like “Need to pick up milk at the store…..”

  41. Courtney says:

The 360 bridge! Keep Austin Weird!

  42. Sihaya says:

    Keep it weird, Austin.

  43. Rick says:

Wow, that is totally awkward. Who’d have thought they’d have scenic overlooks in Texas?

  44. Carla says:

    Yep. THAT’S Austin for you

  45. Andrew says:

Probably a model and a pro photographer out there, not awkward, just people making an honest living…maybe.

  46. fireflight says:

  47. LKT says:

I think this might be the most awesomest of photo bombs I have ever seen!!! 🙂

  48. Rachelle says:

    Apparently Zena travels too.
