back in those years, we had very few possibilities to watch those “capitalist” movies in the USSR. That was the style in Lithuania in the late 80′s.
It is genuine. When I first saw this photo I knew it was from Lithuania

The girl looks like a cross between Wednesday on the Addams Family and the little girl in the movie “The Bad Seed”.

I love the bit of hair sticking up from the boy’s head. His hair reminds me of my son’s hair. It would always do that! And love the pairing of stripe tie with plaid coat. Classic!

The funniest thing about this for me is that every single comment is about Wednesday and/or the Addams family. Too funny!!!!!

The dress the girl is wearing is a public school uniform worn in the Soviet Republic of Latvia, around the years of 1980-1986. It is dark blue. I think I went to school with this girl! lol
If these people are Latvian, They may never have known that their daughter looks like Wednesday Addams.
I’m the girl in that photo.
The photo was taken ~1989 and the dress wasn’t a school uniform. It was dark red 
and Tim, you’re very right, we had the ability to see “the Addams Family” years later after the photo was taken and realize the similarity. However, I smile every time i remember this pic

I was sort of close, though, at least geographically
. Funny, my school uniform looked practically identical to the dress and you look a lot like the girl I went to school with. I liked that uniform. I wasn’t pleased when they changed the style.
