Maybe he’s a news anchor and thats the joke. It’s pretty common for news anchors to be wearing sweats, shorts or jeans during a newscast only the weather person wears regular clothes.
I don’t know if the sneakers make it better or worse…..on the one hand if he were wearing dress shoes it would add a new level of awkward……but on the other it would at least look like he *tried* to be formal!

Actually it wasn’t cropped. That’s how it appeared in their church directory. Unfortunately, uncle jim, like you, thought it would be cropped.
Well…at least they’re actually wearing clothes and not….say…sitting on a flag of some sort.

Obviously this photo was meant to be cropped from the chest up. Not really all that awkward – why wrinkle ur pants if u don’t need too?
