This is one of those “vintage” portraits taken at a photo booth you see in a carnival or amusement park, where they dress you up in old-looking garb and take an “old-fashioned” photo. I admit, the head pile does make it unique!
Most old photos have stiff non-smiling faces because it took so much longer for the ‘flash’ to work, sometimes hours. Hard to hold a smile for that length of time But this looks great, might get my 7 kids to do a pic like this.
I actually love this photo. It’s rare to see victorian women being silly. I love their beautiful smiles. This is something my girl friends and I would do. I guess young ladies haven’t changed that much:)

Charmingly Eastern European. What could their story have been? Young Pioneers leaving for Palestine, perhaps? I retroactively wish them well.
