The Spirit Of Taking

“This is a photo of my younger sister and I on Christmas in 1996. I’m the one with the triumphant look on my face holding the cards and mashing my hand in my sister’s face. I love this picture because it pretty much sums up the relationship I have with my sister. It also tells you a lot about my family… like the fact that my parents took a picture of the situation before pulling me off of my sister.”

Me, Myself, And Eye

“Her eyes were closed for the picture but the company said they could fix that. This “zombie” daughter pic sits on my fireplace!”

Double Rainbow

“My daughter, revelling in the sight of a double rainbow, while her older brother is a complete grump because she wouldn’t share a biscuit. Sums them up perfectly.”

Little Darth

“My family was asked to bring their favorite item to a Unitarian church photoshoot. I brought a flip phone, my father a guitar, and my 8-year-old brother his Darth Vader mask. He refused to take the photo without it.”

All In The Family

“The year was 1990. This was NOT my prom date. It just so happened my brother also attended the prom so we had a picture taken together.”

The Little Engine That Couldn’t

“My sister performing in our elementary school play ‘The Little Engine That Could’ in the early nineties. She was the ‘happiest birthday train’ and she nailed it.”

Side Eye

“Over 60 years ago, my parents had a picture done professionally of my two older sisters and me. This was one of the ‘proofs’ they received. My two older sisters have now passed. I showed this to a friend who sent me one of your cards and suggested I send this to you. My middle sister had no idea why she had the ‘sideways’ eyes, but it has brought a lot of humor to our family for many years.”
