Beating The Odds

Beating The Odds - Birthdays

“This is a school assignment I did when I was about to turn eight. I was excited that my friend Kim was coming to my birthday party. I also reminisced about something my mother had said to me when I was younger. Gee, thanks Mom. I loved Miss Smith’s response: “Why not?” My mother and I had a bit of a strained relationship to say the least. LOL.”

Food Mountain

Food Mountain - Kids

“My family and I just spent the day at Disney’s Magic Kingdom in Orlando, FL.  This is a photo of what $70 will get you: 2 hotdogs, 4 fries, 2 corndog bites, 5 soft drinks (the lady threw in the waters for free when she saw me ask for 5 large soft drinks for me & my tiny children) and chairs that are outrageously too small for the tables.  Oh, and all the magic your heart could desire, judging from the looks on my children’s faces.”

“C” Is For “Creepy”

“C” Is For “Creepy” - Kids

“Found this gem while digitizing the family photos. It was taken sometime in the late 70s in Des Moines, Iowa. I’m the little guy with Cookie Monster and my brother, who’s sole comment upon seeing this photo was, ‘miss that hat.’”

Project Makeover: Kid Edition

Project Makeover: Kid Edition - Glamour Shots

“That time my Mum took me to get a ‘makeover.’ She’s English so my best guess is she was trying to recreate what Queen Elizabeth looked like as a child as some sort of ‘homage’ to her country. I have no idea.”
