I want to know more about this photo to contribute to the awkwardness– did Brittany’s family have a farm, and they did this every year? Or was it a church thing or something? Where is everyone else (the three kings, etc.)?
The farm is my family’s. The goat was mine. There was another picture of her trying to lick my face, but this one won out. There were two other kids there who were also posing as Mary and Joseph (and one of their moms who provided the costuming and who also thought that this was a great idea) so we were all on rotation. However, this was not a regular occurrence and did not have any more repeats after this. My brother and I made sure of that. We did lend out our farm animals to our church every year for the nativity, though.

Your mom is very creative. I love the costumes she made for you and your brother. Your brother, however, looks like he would rather poke out his eye than get his picture taken in the costume.
Yeah, the only one who seems to be taking this at all seriously is the doll.
