Snake Eyes

“My husband and I a couple years ago while we were dating. Looking back I see it for what it truly is–awful and AWKWARD! LOL!”

Flower Nap

“My daughter was supposed to be a flower girl in her aunt’s wedding but napping is life. (She was safely strapped in).”

The Grand Compromise

“This is a photo of my husband’s sweet-as-pie Grandma with her great-grandsons. Grandma is holding one of our sons, and our other son is face down on the floor. He only wanted to be in the picture if he could be like that. Note that he does not let go of his balloon throughout the whole process.”

Renaissance Regrets

“I lived in Luxembourg as a kid so my family did a lot of traveling in the five years we lived there.  In looking through the pictures, it was obvious that my siblings and I were not happy campers on this trip to Italy as we all refused to smile in every picture. I’m sure my Dad thought it was hilarious to have his eight-year-old daughter pose in front of a fat naked man sitting on a turtle.

The statue is ‘The Fountain of Bacchus’, sculpted in 1560 by Valerio Cioli. He used Duke Cosimo I’s court dwarf as the model for Bacchus. If you want to see the statue today, or take your own picture with it, it’s at the Boboli Gardens in Florence, Italy.”

A Man Apart

“It was my Grandparent’s 50th anniversary and all of the children and grandchildren got together. When everyone posed for a family photo, you can tell EXACTLY who didn’t want to be there.”

Maroon 5

“My mother must have ransacked the Sears catalog to purchase these Sears Tuff Skins maroon denim outfits (with white top-stitching) for all five of us kids. She got matching outfits for herself and Dad, who aren’t in the photo. Then we all went to Six Flags Over Georgia, where we were mistaken for – on multiple occasions – either a gospel group or a a country music band. As the eldest child (12) and only girl…I was completely mortified and spent most of the day dragging 20 feet behind my family. Flash forward 44 years and it is now my brothers’ and my most “precious” (and totally hilarious) memory! Embrace the awkward!”
