Monumental Disappointment
“Since my husband was on an extended temporary duty assignment in the D.C. area in late 2013, we jumped into homeschooling and took advantage of all the historical sights to see. After a six mile hike through the National Mall during the holidays, our last stop was to see Honest Abe. Our 7 and 9 year old boys were so thrilled to run up the steps, but when I told them to stand in front of Lincoln for a photo, you would have thought they just found out Santa wasn’t real.”

Halloween Disharmony
“I had the classic store-bought costume, including a mask with eye holes that never lined up with your own. My brother was forced to don one of my mother’s ‘homemade’ costumes. His face says it all.”

The Drowsy Kindergartener
“These are my son’s original kindergarten photo and the retake. Somehow the retake was worse.”

The Accidental Jedi
“I always thought my little brother looked like he was riding into battle holding a light saber.”

Super Grandma
“So grandma brought all the grandkids together and decided to make these great screen-printed shirts for all of us. Don’t know why she thought she was so ‘super’ with only four grandkids.”

Balloon Face
“We’d just finished having fun at a church supper and went out to the playground. My daughter had had enough, but at least my wife and son were still willing to smile. I ended up behind the balloon and an awkward family photo was born!”

Struggle For A Smile
“My little sister was not happy about her outfit because it was “itchy.” My mom was so upset that she wouldn’t smile. She said, ‘Get over there and smile,’ and this was the result. We laugh about it all the time now. Mom even blew up the picture for my sisters high school graduation. We remade this picture for my mom for Christmas this year (2013).”
