Brothers
Logjam
“This is a photo of my dad (far right) and his three brothers. I guess the photographer couldn’t find a larger prop to set them on, and instead had them straddle and squeeze in.”

Kick In The Crochet
“My brothers and I still cringe when we look at this photo taken of us in 1974. Our mother had been so proud of these outfits that she crocheted for us. This photo was taken on our way to church that morning. Good Lord, what was she thinking!?”

Elevation
“My brother broke his arm so bad that he had to sleep with a wooden stick attached to him to keep it elevated. Clearly Mom found this to be a great opportunity take a photo, and she asked me to get in there too.”

On A Pedestal
“While I was away at college my family had to take a portrait for a church directory, so they took a framed photo of me. It was the photographer’s great idea to put me on a pedestal. Also, my Dad and brother had been fighting over something trivial, my Mom was annoyed, and my youngest brother habitually refused to smile for any picture.”

Adventure Time
“My mom thought this picture would be a great surprise for my dad. My little brother looks like a natural bow hunter and my sister apparently enjoy’s bird watching. I got put in the back to catch my pretend fish because my nose is peeling from a very bad sunburn. Our dog isn’t even happy to be in the picture.”

The Promotion
“My sister and her boyfriend were so excited to share their announcement. My nephew was…less than impressed.”

Man In The Mirror
“I took this picture of my brother showing off a fish he caught. I did not realize my boyfriend could be seen in the mirror. Although he looks like he’s not wearing any clothes, he has a pair of tighty-whities on…I think.”

I Ruined Thanksgiving
“Every year for Thanksgiving my brother and I drink several cocktails and deep fry the turkey. This year I decided to brine the turkey in apple cider. Results were the fry oil burnt the sugars in the cider turning the turkey black and my grandmother declaring that I ruined Thanksgiving. Cheers!”

I Fold
“This was taken after church one Saturday. My parents look like they don’t want to be there. My Uncle looks like he’s surprised to be there, (which might explain why he’s holding a folder), and me and my brother are just there.”

Suspended
“This is a picture of me (the little girl), my brother, and my parents. Yes, my brother is wearing acid washed jeans held up by red suspenders. Yes, my father is rockin’ the pencil ‘stache. Yes, I have the ‘I need an adult’ face. I’m not sure what concerns me more – what my parents are doing to my brother or my brother’s enjoyment of it.”
