Captain Hooked

“This is my husband and I the night of our wedding. His “friends” thought it would be funny to put a fish hook on the steering wheel of the car, because I “HOOKED” him. In our celebratory state he got the hook stuck in his hand. We had to go to the ER to get it removed and he had to get a tetanus shot. The ER staff took this picture and gave us back the hook to keep.”

Elevation

“My brother broke his arm so bad that he had to sleep with a wooden stick attached to him to keep it elevated. Clearly Mom found this to be a great opportunity take a photo, and she asked me to get in there too.”

Harnessing His Power

“In 1991, I was diagnosed with epilepsy. My Father, at the time, was a photographer whose studio was in our home. After a long day of tests and hospital visits, he decided to take this photo of me in my epilepsy test equipment, which is worn over a few days… I still don’t know why he took it, but what you see here is a shirtless, awesome looking ten-year-old boy with acid-washed jeans and perfectly feathered hair.”

Unbreakable

“My two sisters had leg injuries and my dad had two partially fractured vertebra because he fell down the shed in our garden. (Everybody is doing good though and they will be fine soon!) My dad had the great idea to take an early Christmas photo to send our friends and relatives to show how happy we are. My mom and I added our own dressings to fit into the picture.”

Keep Your Eye On The Ball

“My brother threw a ball at my eye when I was 10 years old and it was picture day two weeks later. My eye stayed like this for 4 years. I was also in Special Ed at the time. I think this is why I became a stand-up comic.”

Brace Yourself

“This is a photo of my sister and nephew at a mother/son dance. My sister had come home from the doctor a few days earlier with the brace on. Instead of staying home, she wore the brace to the dance.”
