lets start with the double shadow. Last time I checked, we only have one sun so that means one shadow. However that could mean that they used a flash on the opposite of the light source which would cause a double shadow. It would also explain why she is so blown out compared to the rest of the picture (e.g. her face). But then there is the background. Its very sharp. Typically the background would fall off and get soft. When dealing with digital images if we want to sharpen something we use a filter in photoshop. Using too much of it makes the image look “crispy”. Which is what that background looks like. Its also very flat, which is an indication of way to much light on the foreground (which we see) and a very high f-stop (maybe f-22) to compensate. You’ll also notice some very subtle “haloing” around the trees indicating that some of the elements were probably stripped in. And there is also some haloing on the dress. Heres the thing about that though. That very clear distinction between the dress and the background. You only see that on lower depth of field images. Considering everything that i’ve already said, that does not seem logical. Everyone seems to think its manipulated because, well, it is. Nothing looks natural.
I’m also noticing some bad cloning/comping work in the foreground of the image, mostly in the leaves. That little brown bit on the left bottom side, i would have removed. so distracting. And why the eff does it look like the bouquet has a photoshop drop-shadow added.
Not only is the photographer horrible, but his photoshop work is too. I say this b/c a photographer of this low of quality would not have the money to hire someone else to do it.
Unfort I *know* this pose is pretty popular with wedding photographers. Why, is beyond me. It’s an awkward pose … ranking up there with using the bride as a battering ram by the groomsmen [yep, was suggested by photographer at friend's wedding].
does the photoshopping make it any less awkward? it was likely photoshopped by a “professional,” and the awkwardness wasn’t manufactured. so why the complaints?
Yes, this is a slightly weird and inappropriate pose but what gets me is: if you’re going to do that at all, don’t do it outside, on the ground…won’t you get dirty???
Is this a green screen? Or perhaps, they were photo-shopped onto a woodsy outdoor background? The lighting just seems a little shifty. I can’t believe she let him do this! This is just very extremely awkward and oddly reminiscent of “Mother Ginger” from The Nutcracker Ballet.
Um, wow. This is making me uber glad we didn’t have a professional photographer at our wedding. Um, yeah. wow. Can’t imagine that one hanging in the living room.
It is not photo-shopped. They used a fill flash and very poorly I might add. Makes it look like the couple are actually in a studio instead of outside, hence the photo-shop look.
I’m torn between thinking that this is a cute photo, that the couple can laugh about for years.. and thinking that this photo NEEDS to be hidden from their future kids! Either way, I’m drawn to their smiles – they look so sincere!

these captions are phenomenal
I am not seeing how this is photoshopped….Maybe I am missing something-I’m not a photo expert. Awesome dress btw
He had to come out for air… who knows how long he’s been hiding under there.
don’s loneliness was matched only by his photoshop skills at placing a bride in full regalia over the top of him…
sorry that was supposed to be for “D”
Hard Knock Life,

…Maybe she just really wanted everyone to see her wedding shoes?
Here comes the bride:)
I can tell this is ‘shopped. I can tell from some of the pixels and from having seen a few ‘shops in my time. For reallz.
Are Groucho & Chico down there too?
She broke him already!
I don’t get why you guys think it’s photoshopped…splain please!
How funny that I have a cousin with the exact same shot only hers is her dad under her dress, not the grrom. Awkward.
Ugh.
Jeezzz, that’s atomically awkward…
Unfort I *know* this pose is pretty popular with wedding photographers. Why, is beyond me. It’s an awkward pose … ranking up there with using the bride as a battering ram by the groomsmen [yep, was suggested by photographer at friend's wedding].
Giggity giggity!
does the photoshopping make it any less awkward? it was likely photoshopped by a “professional,” and the awkwardness wasn’t manufactured. so why the complaints?
It’s a boy!
ROFL!! love it
Ha!! good one!
Yes, this is a slightly weird and inappropriate pose but what gets me is: if you’re going to do that at all, don’t do it outside, on the ground…won’t you get dirty???
Last note, despite everything I like her dress
He promised to support her!
She’s going to great pains to help him shoulder his responsibilities!
Funniest comment!
Is this an awkward photoshop?
Yes, those are the correct words. Awkward photoshop.
Is this a green screen? Or perhaps, they were photo-shopped onto a woodsy outdoor background? The lighting just seems a little shifty. I can’t believe she let him do this! This is just very extremely awkward and oddly reminiscent of “Mother Ginger” from The Nutcracker Ballet.
now thats a new position… gotta go back to reading cosmo
Ahhhhh, the old groom under the wedding dress pose, a favourite of wedding photographers worldwide since 1903.
Thaaaat’s Awkward…
“shopping for a wedding dress is sooo hard!!! i really want a picture of paul shooting out of the bottom of it…nope…none of these will do.”
“Paul from the previous prom photo “Paul”?
ride ‘im cowgirl
Get used to it, Dude!
This looks really photoshoped to me.
Look, the dress came with a groom included! What a bonus!
And now his tux is gonna get all green because of the grass… Lose Lose situation!
Say is that the Groom or the Best Man? We could hope, both!
“I was just… ah… yeah, it’s not what it looks like.”
Obviously Photoshopped!
Why so many Photoshopped postings lately?
ITA, I like the variety of shots, enjoy a story now and again but the obviously shopped pictures have to stop! Pretty please!
Giddy-up?
Where’d he go? Oh, I see him…
The whereabouts of the missing best man is revealed!
hahaha!!!!
“we found the groom. he didn’t take off after all”
What? I wouldn’t buy a a car without checking under the hood. How is this any different ?
Obviosly, the photographer was trying to “think outside the box.” lol
Oh wow……one could take THIS comment as really inappropriate. hahaha.
I’m pretty sure that was MB’s intention.
Okay that was funny!
The most awkward thing about this photo is the photoshop job…
Um, sorry to say, but there isn’t any photoshop job!
The background is very odd looking compared to the subjects. It’s possible for it to be photoshopped, and it’s also possible that it’s real.
Either way, there were definitely some touch ups done poorly to it.
Um, is this your photo? It looks seriously poorly photoshopped to my untrained eye…
I agree. No photoshop done. It’s just bad use of flash.
Blow the picture up 800%, I don’t see any photoshpping.
Who else is under there?
LOL!!
Yes! LOL! I imagine a whole circus of clowns coming from under her dress,
clowns
why?
Um, wow. This is making me uber glad we didn’t have a professional photographer at our wedding. Um, yeah. wow. Can’t imagine that one hanging in the living room.
Fun, kinda cute….but definitely awkward. what on earth was he doing down there?!?
He was trying to get out of paying the photographer, but awww…they found him.
Hope he had a good time while he was hiding, though.
Too hide that magnificent cross bow!
Mommy, what was Daddy doing under your dress?
Some wedding photographers ought to be taken out and shot. And I mean that in a nice way.
Simmer down there, Tiger. Save it for the wedding night.
Because of awkwardfamilyphotos.com I now know that wedding photographers have some really dumb ideas.
Dumb ideas??? Come on…
First, we had the armshelf.
Next came the kneeshelf. Not long after, the legendary kneeshelf-to-armshelf combo. A difficult move to pull off, but awesome when done well.
This photographer took the -shelf to a whole. nuther. level!
It’s…. The Groom Shelf!!! This is the pose of the future, mark my words!
I cannot breathe from laughing so hard…..groom shelf……I will giggle for days
Wow. That looks really photo-shoped!
Doesn’t it though…really bad photoshop job.
However I do LOVE that dress
It is not photo-shopped. They used a fill flash and very poorly I might add. Makes it look like the couple are actually in a studio instead of outside, hence the photo-shop look.
