I thought it was a wedding too until I saw the corsage. Definitely a strange photo. Why would you want to sandwich the prom couple in a photo?

At first I thought it was a wedding photo (like others) and wondered what kind of wedding would feature such an assortment of dress codes.
Look at the trees- this photo was taken in the spring so a white tux is ok date-wise. Still, why ruin a prom photo putting two people in it who are NOT dressed up??
Is it just me, or is his suit yellow, just like her dress? His dress shirt is white, and compared to that, the suit looks yellow, to match her dress.
I think they are both Ivory. An Ivory tux or suit is less dorky then a white one. I hate white tuxes as well.

I think it’s because she doesn’t have anyone in front of her to hold on to. She’s totally what makes this photo awkward, IMO.

This must be the slowest conga line in the world. I also wonder if, upon developing the film (because this was obviously before digital cameras), did the photographer say, “Oh, no! One of the cars is completely covered up and the other one got cut off!”

i think each of the lovely couple was allowed to bring a chaperone of their choice. she picked her mom and he picked his other girlfriend.

I think this is mom and her three kids. They all look alike (particularly in the chin area) and the picture makes sense in that context. It is wedding related, I would guess. The two siblings in the middle are a bridesmaid and a groomsman. Notice the purple in both of their outfits.

You can always tell the one who doesn’t want to be in the picture. The one in front is saying… “Just take the darn picture already!!”
