My mother was a hairdresser on an Air Force Base years ago; one with a large contingent of retirees. I swear this was the look she would give 90% of her customers to one degree or another. No we’re not in Texas… actually Southern California. A lot of “new” hairdressers don’t know how to do backcombing well enough to get this type of ‘do to stay for the week or until the next appointment. Maybe if 80′s hair is truly coming back, they will have all the practice they need to satisfy young and old!
ok i know it all, apparently you don’t know jack. the daughter has been on here more than once and just because technology makes it possbile does not mean every freaking picture is photoshopped. just look at them and enjoy, you don’t have to be so serious on here people and did you think in the 50′s and 60′s that beehives were photoshoped ummmmmm NO. Get over yourself
If this isnt photo shopped, then she wears a wig. I can see a VERY distinct hairline. But to be honest I’m actually a little more inclined to believe it’s a wig than photoshop.
Sorry people, but it is photoshopped, as anyone who has worked in graphics can clearly tell. It may be impressive in its natural state, but enhancing it actually detracts from the believability.
I love that, with Grandma’s “high hair”, they are the same height!
I guess since you shrink as you get older, the solution is to make the hair higher and higher!!
Hello Everyone,
I printed all your comments for our Dolly Mama to read. She is not high tech. She has had the best time laughing at everything you have said about her hair. Hats off to her beautician who weekly, manages to exceed everyone’s expectation by getting the hair higher and wider.
Another one of her sayings is that “you can never be too blonde or too high”. Keep up the great messages. She is loving it!!
Actually Lindsay, coming from a Photoshop expert, this DOES look doctored. It looks like someone just selected all the hair and enlarged it. But, alas, I’m wrong.
It’s so annoying when people are constantly crying ‘photoshopped’..just enjoy the pictures and relax! (I saw the previous comments that this photo is genuine, I’m just saying in general that people should chill about the photoshopping, especially when they have no idea whether it’s fake or not)
As she always says, the higher the hair, the closer to God. She wears her hair with pride and it is her signature trademark in her real estate business. This is her real hair. She is a beautiful giving person and I am proud to call her my mom.
Sharon
Sharon, your mom ROCKS! I’m from Dallas, and decided to send this pic to my grandmother and some of her friends, and she’s having flashbacks of her attempts at the giant Angela Davis fros, fluffy bouffants, Farrah Fawcett wings, and she’s jealous of your mom: said she could never get her hair to go up, just out! I love her hair, and I love “the higher the hair, the cloer to God.” Tell your mom she is the BOMB!!!!!!!!
I have seen PLENTY of women with hair that high. Around here there is a particular religious denomination which demands it’s female members wear their hair long. When they get older they are forced to find creative ways to wear it, thus the gigantic, teased up, smoothed over into little rolls piles on the tops of their heads.

LOL. I was thinking the same thing…
My thoughts too – looks a wee bit scared, but keeping her smile. Obviously raised well

we saw a waitress at the Horseshoe in Vegas with hair bigger than grandma’s– I think it is real, and I know it is fresh!

Young blonde is beautiful. fyi.
Kiss my Grits!!
She looks alot like my Mamaw did….nice hair.
The grandaughter looks just like her…really cool…
So that is her real hair and not a wig? I remember in the 70′s (I think) wigs were in and the higher the better..Is she in Texas?
I love that, with Grandma’s “high hair”, they are the same height!

She must get her spun in one of those cotton-candy machines.
Grand-daughter next to her? They look a lot alike – pretty ladies!
Marge Simpson still has her beat.
You can tell by her smile she is a sweetheart. But if she is enjoying the laughs, got to respect that and give them to her.
OMG! The blond girl is super hot!

no it doesn’t, it looks real
Sorry Ash, but as an expert on Gramma hair it does not look photoshopped.
Looks like your photoshop expertise failed you.
Wow, that is truly impressive.
hells yeah it is… i want to learn how to do that.. you know.. practice for the future…

I agree…. and it’s insulting when someone cries Photoshop and it’s not… so STOP it already! (Or to the SysGod’s… stop allowing those comments!)

Great Aqua Net advertisement!
This is SO obviously photoshopped.
its not that my grandma
It is the real deal! This is my husband’s grandma, she is a sweet lady who just likes things a little bigger and flashier!!
Just answer on question…does she live in Texas? Everything’s bigger in Texas!
if not Texas, somewhere in the South. Hair motto: the bigger, the better.
The higher the hair the closer to Jesus…
not photoshopped at all!! She & her hair is the real deal!!
Please know that this is NOT a doctored photo….I am not in the family….just a friend….I have seen it with my own eyes….
Nice doo! The girl is really cute as well!
isnt that Flo from the show Alice?
That’s what I thought!!!

I’m guessing Grandma is southern? =)
Why would people assume everything is photoshopped? It drives me crazy!
