YUCK! i HATE barefoot men! ICK!!!!!!
Scurvy never looked so exciting.
“You…..yeah you….the one in the back..on the left….yeah you! What…are you French? You can’t be a pirate…you’re French!
On three, say cheese… Ok on four.. How about five? (:-)
easy..lol
So eazy a pirate can do it
1…2…3…Scurvy!
I bet this family wanted to send out greeting cards for Talk Like A Pirate Day. (Sept 19th) Sadly, the trend never caught on.
They need an infusion of PIRATTITUDE!
Is anyone else weirded out that the kids all look like that boy from “Let the Right One In”?
yes.
scary thing is that photo isn’t really that old……Mom’s do is though.
..and to think, they waited in line 3 hours just to see Keith Richards’ scenes…all 7 minutes of it.
No Jolly Roger for these Pirates…. Arrrr
..iz arf to Davy Jones locker fer all of yuz
aaargh, pirates don’t smile – they have rotten teeth.
They’re clearly followers of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.
I must be the odd one out here. The first thing I thought when I saw this was “not very REALISTIC looking pirates.” On the other hand, I DO dress like a pirate on a regular basis, hang out with OTHER people who dress like pirates, and we’re quite the organized pirate crew. (Renaissance faire junkie? That I am). In fact, there’s a picture of about 20-30 of us, and we all look like we could be POTC extras.
The little one looks like he’s got the scurvy.
Aye, matey!
“Avast, ye matey!… oh why bother anymore…..?”
Arrgh – it brings a tear to me one good eye.
win
Yar, Awkward Family Photos be the only place for Steve.
EXACTLY!
Jack had grown up in Pittsburgh and had always been a fan. When his wife told him she wanted the family to dress up like Pirates for the picture he was on cloud nine. He would make Willie Stargell and Roberto Clemente so proud. From the look on Jack’s face it’s pretty evident he and his wife were not on the same sheet of music.
Argh! Ye pillaged our shoes…nows we walk the plank! Arrrrrrgh!
I have to disagree with those who thinks that mom looks remotely ok with it. Nobody looks ok with it. That is the sheer awkwardness. Usually there is ONE person who wanted to be there. NONE of them want to be there like that.
Who or what behind the scenes is forcing them to do this?
I sure wouldn’t want to be the photographer on this one. They don’t look like the smiling type. lol
Pirates of the Carib. meets the Les Mis rejects???
Avast ye landlubbers! Where be our smiles and our shoes?
Oh my goodess! Let’s preserve the moment and not all smile at once – or at all for that matter!!!
AND…Bwahhh hahhaaha…..AND the photographer signed and copyrighted the photo so no one else could take credit for his artistic genius!!!
Don’t want anyone else to claim that work of art!!!!!!!!
OUCH!!!
They haz a sad
Dad’s pissy because he wanted to dress up like ninjas.
Hey, don’t knock Pirates of the Caribbean!
I’ll be this was one of those things that seemed like a good idea that one time in the car. And then it came true, and as soon as the camera clicked, everyone realized what a horrendous idea it really was. I’ll bet they don’t even like talking about this day.
ARGH, NOW LET’S GO TO MC DONALDS! ARGH!
Is the dad wearing a feather boa???? O.o
Well, pirates DO have to look mean.
They could all quite curb their enthusiasm.
They all look like they are suffering from scurvy.
I thought the same thing.
That’s exactly what I thought! Especially the boy in front!
You know it’s bad……..when the kids are embarrassed.
What do you mean “not everybody liked Pirates of the Caribbean”???? It looks like NOBODY liked Pirates of the Caribbean!!!! lol
My thought exactly!!!!!!!!!
Why is the girl in the back left wearing a graduation cap? Or is it a regular ski hat with an upside down anvil inside? I am also loving Dad’s maroon feather boa! Actually, I bet this family is a lot of fun, and they’re just pretending to look mean and grumpy to get into the pirate spirit!
its a spanish inquisition hat
I am so confused here…where to begin. They all half-heartedly decided to do a pirate thing…which for some only means bandana. Their clothing isn’t pirate..and besides the mom, the rest look like they would rather be picking up road kill with their bare hands than be in this picture. Can’t say I blame them….
LOL Just what I was thinking. Why do a family portrait if nobody is enjoying it? Love to hear the back story on this one. Or maybe not.
What? Are you saying pirates don’t wear sweat pants and denim capris????
Umm…mom’s idea
Weren’t these people on “Wife Swap”?
That was my first thought…but, then again, that’s my first thought about half of the pictures on here. There are far too many awkward, made-for-TV families in the world.
I was thinking the same thing! There are only so many people in the is world who take the pirate thing so seriously.
I wish. It was “Trading Spouses.”
Is that how mom dresses on a daily basis? She’s pirated up and the only one who looks like they remotely want to be there.
The father is losing his hair and insisted that he be able to cover it. When he showed up looking like Blackbeard, the mom in her eagerness to have a family photo made, allowed the kids to cover their heads to take attention away from the balding dad. My question is, where are their shoes and where did the kid on the left get the Spanish Inquisition hat?
nobody expects the spanish inquisition
Win.
Do you know how hard it is to find good pirate shoes at the mall these days?? Better to go with the “just finished swabbing the deck” look….
This looks so depressing, I can’t muster up a good “Yellowbeard” quote…
Stagger, stagger, roll, roll…zzzzzzzz
