Behind the Awkwardness: The Patriot
November 15th, 2009
“My grandfather is the star of many awkward family photos. Here, he poses pantsless, with a pair of kettlebells, artistically composed at his feet to highlight his lack of pants and booty short spandex. The flag in the background pretty much says it all: this is AMERICA.”

Man besides the funny photos these grandparents are in spectacular shape. How old are they?
you’re all missing the point regarding which way the flag points- people wear pants in pictures! tact, america! decorum!
but it is whimsical…i bet she does better in life by going to grandparents’ and not spring break in ft lauderdale! go, girl!
kp
HAHAHA!!!! I love those relatives that can make basically any picture awkward… I love how Hannah is facing AWAY from her grandfather so she doesn’t have to see his white legs in her peripherals haha!!
) very much enjoying this… as I was scrolling down my mouth dropped, my hand covered my mouth and i chuckled a great deal
)
Everybody is forgetting that grandma is in pretty good shape too!!!
Isn’t that flag back to front?
The blue field should always be top left, so the flag is hanging correctly.
More specifically, the blue field is always to be on the flag’s own right.
Those kettlebells are awfully close to his bare feet. I’d be nervous my toes would get squished.
Hannah is a hottie!
She is, Dan, and apparently she has a damn good sense of humor, too. The perfect woman.
Great for our enjoyment, but I totally would have told gramps to put some pant’s, short’s something on before snapping off the photo!
A personal pet peeve, totally unrelated to the photo, but directly related to your comment. I’ve noticed this trend in America in the past couple of years, & it is only getting WORSE: why, oh WHY do people now think an apostrophe should be placed before EVERY SINGLE “S”?!?!?
LOL^^^
+1
Marnie? Is that you??
LOL!
When you find out, please let me know. It’s one of my pet peeves, too. Cats, dogs, pizzas, none of these words needs a bloody apostrophe!
I think you mean “pet peeve’s.”
It’s me in 40 years
Song playing right now in grandpa’s iPod, “…every girl’s crazy ’bout a sharp dressed man…”
love that!
The Dad looks a little like J.K. Simmons lol
They look like a really happy AMERICAN (not sure why that was included) family!
You mean the giant flag in the background in front of the door went completely unnoticed by you?
It was included because when people do wacky things we cite “this is America” in other words, we’re FREE- free even to be weird and act like total goobers if we want!
I know this sounds creepy….but you should wear heels with that dress. You would look superHAWT!
Yea you’re right. Creepy
That is creepy, but i totally agree!
We ladies can appreciate his “kettle balls”, as you put them, but what do you call those things on the ground in front of him?
rechecked: “kettle bells”. Still, begs the question.
Yea, you laugh. But you don’t mess with Gramps, either.
You got that right!
Not bad looking for a grandpa! Laughing is what life is about!
Warning: do not view this at work! I started crying from laughing so hard and then had to try and help customers with tears running down my face! Wonderful funny family picture! Be thankful that you still have your grandfather around in your life to do hilarious stuff like that – even if he is embarrassing, he’s still with you!
Uhm.. Why would you view this at work..? I get that you might be bored, but still…
Calm down there Marnie…
I dont’ have almost any extra time at work to view such fun stuff as A.F.Pictures. AND….. I SO wish I did! This site is hilarious….& if you (or I, for that matter) can find a way to sneak in a bit of laughter…go for it. I think that things would improve at my job if we did have the time for an occasional 5 minutes of “laugh til you almost lose it” time!
